great job! i've been thinking doing something similar to my truck this winter. my box is shot, frame is on its way out. leaning towards building a rear frame section, 63" springs, design a flat bed that hauls motorcycles, maybe a built in slide out ramp, also tool box, jack mount and shovel mount

 

thanks for all the possitive thoughts guys, the frame is 2x5 3/16ths thick, coated in XO rust a true value brand that is great (also what i used on the front rad support and inner fenders) instead of the chevy leafs i did ford 150s from mid 90s truck they are around 56 instead or chevy 63s a lot of people said the chevys were to long getting hung up on rocks

 

well got some time in yesterday with some LEDs i have been meaning to add. build a dud, kinda sucks but thats the world of custom LEDS. the 4 of these leds are about the size of a quarter all put together. i have 4 more going on soon, with 8 all together i am positive they will be brighter then stock headlights on high. they are bright. in the day they hurt your eyes to look at, so they will mostly be offroad/when someone else leaves there high beams on lights. what do think? i am not crazy about the 2 in the grill might change it up some, not sure yet

i will give you all i have taken. canvas wont be on again till spring so cant get any more for a while sorry, it has a lot of space inside, i have only used it 3 times so far but the biggest load was, futon mattress, 3 big tote buckets, 2 coolers, 2 backpacks, and a highlift, with plenty of room to spare. that is hauling not sleeping, can sleep with the mattress fully stretched out with pretty much everything outside. not a big deal though. i have a bunch of plans for organizing things this upcoming summer including a possible addition. the front is 3 inch Velcro where is comes down beside the cab, the part that goes between the bars is the same. it makes a 100% seal. first night used was pooring rain all night, stayed totally dry even with the top fill of water (still need to build some cross bars)

thanks, i like having the most versicle truck possible. it can haul well (for a 4cyl) can wheel pretty well, sleeps very nicely, the whole canvas top fit into one of those vacume bags and becomes about 14x24 and about and inch or 2 think so i can keep in behind my seat all the time (never know?) it only uses 5 bungees to mount on but i have been 45mph with just 1 and had no problems. i did get some rips in the material this summer and i have to do some fixing come spring, the biggest draw back is it makes a big blind spot driving and wheeling, driving i dont mind but wheeling can be a pain. sure does turn heads going down the road though

 

Thank you and the others for cleaning the trails where your at and keep the tree huggers off our butts for having some fun in the US's outback area's and it's the Ass's that screw it up and get trails closed!!!! Thanks again :}
