Thanks Irab! That was really helpful!
Well, I fixed my harness and I Autopal housings came in today, so I got to finish the conversion. The housings I got were the Euro Diamond Crystal Autopals and I got the "Ultra Blue" 100/90w bulbs. They were about $47 shipped to my door and here is a link to the site I got them from: http://rimiusa.com/index.php?main_pa...products_id=40
Now, some pics

The camera doesn't do it any justice. I'm parked in the same spot in the driveway before and after, so to aim the new lights, I just looked at the before pics to see where the cutoff was on the garage door and tried to match it. In this pic, the drivers side is a little low. As for the horizontal adjustment, I just did it by eye. Turns out, when I'm driving, the upward slope of the cutoff on the low beams begins right in the center of my lane. So far, no one flashed their lights at me on my test run, but one day I'll go out and actually do it the right way.

I took these sitting in the middle of some backroad because I didn't know how the pics in front of the garage would turn out.

It's been a while since I updated. I've been a little busy with work and getting ready for school. We actually finished painting the truck about two weeks ago and I just haven't had the time to update (which explains the gray primer hood in my last post).
Anyway, here's some pics:
Getting the hood primed.

Fenders painted. The hood and cowl panel were also painted at this time.

Bed bondo-ed, primered, painted and cleared

We installed the cowl panel and hood, then rolled it out into the driveway to see the difference between the new paint and the faded paint.

Cab getting primed, painted and cleared

Finished, with new fenders installed

For some reason, my camera makes it look orange, but its definitely red.

Because racetruck:

Now, I know I've said that if I got it painted, I'd put the stripes back on it. Well...I kinda changed my mind on that. At $275 + shipping, it's a little out of my price range, plus everyone I've talked to since I painted it says it looks a lot better without them. However, I may just get a tailgate decal, just the regular TOYOTA letters in black.
Anyway, that's what I've been doing

Im not too sure. It was $55 per quart for the paint and it took 2 quarts EXACTLY to paint the entire thing. We had NONE to spare. I needed a gallon of lacquer thinner which was $12 or so and some bondo hardener. Everything else was stuff from previous projects. All the reducer, hardener, bondo, clear coat, primer and paint guns were stuff we already had. We used three cheapo harbor freight paint guns. One for primer, one for paint, one for clear. My dad learned early on that its much easier to use three after a couple globs of primer shot out while shooting purple on a 280z lol.
If i had to estimate, probably $400 or $500 total.

Thanks! I try to park away from people whenever possible, but at school, its really hard. Its either park in the parking garage right where all my classes are or park away from everyone, but have to walk a million miles uphill to get to class. Im lazy, so i always choose the former lol

Just read through this entire build thread! You've done a great job with the truck. Its really come a long way. That thing is cleannnn.
Love the stance too. I know from the beginning you were talking about the offset of those wheels...have any idea of what the offset is?

Yeah, my rear end has been slowly leaking gear oil for a couple months now. Once I went under and tightened the drain plug and the fill plug but it still dripped. I never really had the time to look further into it until today. On Friday, I began hearing a whine in the differential, so today I went out and looked over the fill plug and drain plug and the leak definitely wasn't coming from them. So I chiseled and scrapped away 211,000 miles worth of gear oil and grime of the axle housing to find that the PO covered up a small hole in the housing with some kind of epoxy. He didn't prep the surface well enough, so the oil began seeping out of the patch. So I ground the patch down and my dad tried to weld it, but the metal was too thin, so we ended up using JB Weld SteelStik to patch it for now.
With that being said, the differential ended up taking two quarts of gear oil (it hold 2.4 quarts). I haven't driven it yet since the "fix", but my guess is that the damage is done and I might finally have to set up my extra differential with the 4.88s.
Oh, just to grab some attention, here's a pick I took today while I was waiting for the JB Weld to cure.
