first thread for me. I've had an 85 4runner and a 83 truck but have always wanted a 2nd gen 4runner and I just got one!! Got it stuck the first time out so ive ordered a Spartan for the rear and it should be this week! So far all ive done is fix some little quirks, mainly with the tailgate/rearwindow. btw thanks to yota tech for all the help. I've also upgraded the stereo(again thanks for the tips on the rear speakers) sooo anyways...super exited about the locker, hopefully I get it put in this week and ill let ya'll know how it goes.

 

Woohoo! I just got my locker installed!! It was quite a chore but I couldn't be happier now that it's finished. It only took me two tries and two days

 

nice man im spooling up my rear when i get around to the 529s being in. i think theres no point in the welded rear when you go out and spend 500+ on axle gears. it may be 600+ with the spool but its all around better for everything

 

So I thought I would throw an update in not because I did any mods but I did have to do some work. This past weekend I went to the river to try and find some new trails but what I found was quick sand my 4runner ended up stuck and stayed there three days. When I finally got it out I found the pinion seal on the rear had been destroyed. When I went to replace it I found my whole axel was filled with mud this was just a week after I had the rear end already torn down. Well it's fixed now and I'm not planning on getting in the river again
