I bought a house out in a town called Mission. Really like it here. I live right beside the wheeling trails pretty much.
The place where the footage of my winch biting it is 20 minutes maybe?
I'm going to be building a new bathroom downstairs. I have to figure out a way of making ˟˟˟˟ run uphill. It's a 2 bedroom 1 bath upstairs and two potential bedrooms and a big rec room in a full sized basement. The furnace/laundry room is large enough to accommodate a shower, toilette and sink comfortably so we are planning to add value that way.
The exit plumbing though is about a metre off the floor going through the foundation wall. I'll have to have some sort of pump system.

I'm staying with a 4Runner. I can get a Landcruiser and the better versions when I move back to Australia.
I can get away with crazy mods the authorities would have convulsions seeing in Australia.
Maybe I should get another 4Runner and start over though. Red is getting pretty beat up. I just removed paint on the passenger door along with a good dent and ripped off the wing mirror.
Along with the rust holes etc I have a lot of work ahead.

Congratulations on the home buddy! Awesome news! As far as old red, you gotta do what you gotta do... Or you at least have to do what you think is right for you! No matter what you do I'm sure it'll be cool!

She has loads of good parts I can part out and of course horde. Moot really until I can afford it and have a proper work spot. If I can find a dead 4Runner with little frame rust that would be ideal.
In this house I can at least get the FJ62 axle build started. I scored an almost new 1 ton chain block for $60 yesterday. I have to see about building something so I can rig up the heavy stuff to get it on my bench. Can't man handle it with the injury so I have to plan smarter.

to make ˟˟˟˟ run uphill. they have inline grinder pumps that semi permanent toilet facilites use. they activate when the toilet gets flushed grinds and pumps it for a few seconds. cheap and effective.

So as of today the Royal Canadian Mounted Police kindly informed me that Red Wagon is not to be on the road anymore. He was pretty cool about it and let me know what he could do to me but did none of it. Nice guy just doing his job but he made it very clear that he will throw the book at me if he catches it on the road.
Fair enough.
Bad part is I'm broke...... No wheeling for me for awhile. Good news is the wife has some interviews in the mining and resources sector. The house we bought is very affordable so as soon as she's back to work I can start buying parts.
On the need list is new rear quarters as the rust holes don't fly for inspection and front glass fenders.
I'll get that axle swap done using my current rear and get a custom rear axle when I can afford it. I think I'll use the 9.5 high pinion 3rd from a FZJ80.
Fortunately, the current axle I have has a ton of common parts to the mini axle so it should keep the cost down.
I've got a good fabricator I can trust to C-Notch the frame to get the swap nice and low.
For awhile though. Nothing.......
Perhaps it's time to get the rest of my America ˟˟˟˟ Yeah Road Trip photos up.

Aww it's not so bad. Lit a bit of a fire under me today.
After my house is done I'm going to start getting her stripped.
I'm thinking of looking for a 3.4L. My engine is getting tired and I can find a complete 3.4 for not that much really anymore. It's supposed to be a dead easy swap as well.
If I want more power I can always get a supercharger for about $2500.

So update.
Every mod other than my skid plate is for sale. If you like it and are close come and get it.
I will need your core for the Blazeland Kit so I can keep mine a rolling chassis. There is a ton of stuff.
Also tires and rims are up as well. 2 are trashed 2 are decent 1 is like new.
The skid plate..... How do I coat it to keep it from rusting. It's beat pretty good and I want to maybe semi gloss clear coat it dirt and all?
It's going to be a wall decoration in the garage/man cave. Wife approval if it's basement bar already.
For the SAS I plan on the knuckles and diff armour getting painted yellow in tribute to how bad ass the IFS was to run.
I'm going to miss being able to bash over rocks actually. I got over lots of stuff using the skid plate to grind over.
Edit//
I need to keep the IFS hubs and skid plate. Thats it.

So I have a bit of a reading update. I've been in contact with Tim at Wild West Offroad about my 4Runner. He did my Blazeland install and I liked him a lot so want to go back to him again to give him more business.
I've sent the following email.
I've been thinking about the build and have wife approval to get a loan and get it built. We are just settling into BC so should be able to get it going in the next month or two.
I think I've got a realistic budget. See what you come up with and I can cherry pick stuff if it turns out that I'm dreaming and need to bring cost down.
Here's the list.
1UZ Swap - engine, wiring harness, adapter plate yadayada- I don't need a rebuilt engine just as long as it was running well enough before the transplant. I'll do that myself at a later date as a project when I have a garage again.
Possible Marlin Crawler R150? Mine is getting sloppy
I have one front shift gear driven t-case. It will need to be converted to top shift and we need to find another so I can twin stick.
Some sort of low profile cross member for tcase etc. Possible minor drivetrain lift to get the belly out of the rocks.
I have a front FJ62 axle which I would like hung with leaf springs. I'll need it fitted with 5.29 gears and an ARB locker. The pumpkin will need to get armoured up. See that <---- armour has a "u" in it.
I want the frame cut and an arch added in like the solid axle trucks come with stock. I really want to keep it as low as possible. I dislike how high SAS'd 4Runners sit. The Blazeland kit kept me nice and low and super stable in Moab even with all that weight on the roof.
I have a rear FJ62 axle which we can use the third fitted with 5.29s and an ARB. I'd like an axle built with disc brakes, full float and matching the track width of the front. Also hung with leaf springs.
I've heard you can use the IFS locking hubs to widen the front FJ62 axle. Not sure on that one but maybe you've heard of this?
I have been very, very happy with my Nitro Gears and want to continue with that brand.
I'll need new tube bumpers with the rear being able to carry a tire. I would like a cradle with two contact points on either side with the pivot forward of the rear tail lights and tied into rear quarter tubing. I've discovered that the fat ass of a 4Runner takes shots like crazy. It needs protection. I also don't want the tire taking the hits hence a cradle to get hit and slide off..
I also had an idea of stretching the rear a few inches. Moving the wheel tub back and getting toyota fibreglass to make something to fit. This is one of the first ideas to go if it is a budget blowout. Otherwise I'll just get the off the shelf rear quarters and front fenders from them. I need all the rust holes gone and the body blasted for paint. Not sure if I will do that down your way or in Canada.
I plan on staying at a 35" tire. I want to be able to beat the piss out of her then drive 1000 miles without a worry. By the end of the last trip she was so beat she's a bit freaky to drive.
Also, I'll need working sway bars front and back. Lastly, I want at most a 1" body lift. I prefer metal getting cut including the tunnel/firewall to make it fit.
I look forward to seeing what you think and can come up with.
Oh and I can strip her to get labour costs down if that would help.
Kind regards,
Andrew D
This should be some fun.

Please feel free to chime in with ideas and opinions. Unfortunately there is no time for me to learn how to build this myself and my current house has no garage. Quite honestly though, my back is still not good for heavy lifting so that also limits what I can do myself. One day I'll have a shop crane!
I'm fixing up my current house and it should be back on the market in a few months. I need a project and this place was super affordable while we get established in British Columbia.
The wife just got a great job in the oil patch South of Ft Mac. This will allow us to upgrade the house so the next place will have a man cave/garage/place to hang booby posters etc. It was a good idea to get a cheap house though. It's pretty cool and has been keeping me busy.

If you need any of the 1UZ parts, feel free to let me know. I have the 1" aluminum body lifts, 1UZ motor mounts, radiator, ect in stock at the moment. If you need any help with motor conversion let me know. I am happy to help.
Now the race is on to see who gets a SAS'd 1uz rig

Do you have a website Toyman? I'm sure it will be handy to have access to parts.
I'm looking forward to seeing the estimate cost. I'm sure some things will need to be changed/adjusted to make it happen.
