The T-100 CVs when set up with LT where the bump and droop stops are not set up properly will bind on themselves. If you allow the front to fully droop and lock the hubs with transmission in neutral then spin the front tires and look, listen, and feel for bind you may find something binds. Also turn the steering wheel to the right and to the left as you do this. When CVs bind on themselves your likely to have one pop.

paying someone to do a sas for you will most likely triple the price of doing it yourself. there's no better way to learn how to build cars than with hands on experience. with what you save doing it yourself you can get some nice tools. as long as you have the right tools, all the parts and have done proper research it isn't that hard. if you cant weld i understand having someone do that but a sas is pretty straight forward. the worst part of a sas is cutting out the ifs and the holes for the frame tubes.

As a tradesman myself I understand the task and want a Red Seal welder doing welds for me on something I intend to take on long trips. It MUST be able to be beat to ˟˟˟˟ and get me home without killing myself or anyone else.
What I can do I will but for frame building and the critical bits I'll get a pro involved.
I'm sure for example I can weld on my own engine mounts. With some good literature I could rebuild and install en engine. What I can't buy is 25+ years of tradesman experience.
My next build is going to be expensive. Fortunately what I've got now is pretty awesome.
Here is a short video of my winch dieing. You can also see what I was talking about when my tires toe in causing steering issues.

Yellowknife to SoCal, Arizona, Moab and back Pt.1
So I've got loads of photos as I said. I'm not even through uploading my first SD card and I've got over 275 photos.
I'll try and say where things are as I post when I can.
So part 1.

Sarah on the Mackenzie River NWT.

This is all around Ft Providence and heading South towards the Liard Hwy. It's a rough dirt road and very long. We camped in the bush and killed dumb birds that are facing away then turn and fly out in front of the truck.
It's a cool highway. Loads of random things to find in the bush.

Worlds longest Bailey Bridge. Pretty cool.

Northern British Columbia.

Remains of the old Alaska Hwy. This one was build by an all black American regiment. I forget which though.

We drove down an original section of the Alaskan Highway. Very curvy and some places to offroad, hunting trails I think.

Some museum along the way.

Oh yeah, Dawson Creek I think.

Drove up the trails to the top of a mountain in Mackenzie, Northern BC.

I didn't know what was wrong quite yet but I was overheating. I had a trashed radiator and had to get it fixed along with a new windshield in the Vancouver area.

seen the video. not sure what is going on with the winch. i see the two wheels toeing in. i think the idler arm is flex upward pull the two wheels in at times. the huge 35 inch tires have alot of leverage lol. at least everything is still holding strong.
i think you could have aired down a little more. let all the rubber flex a little more. but than again wet conditions suck.

I got home for a visit before heading to Washington state.
Went for a hike to see another Bridal Falls.

There is a park in Surrey where I grew up called Tynehead. Lots of birds and a fish hatchery.
I love this park.

Fish in the streams spawning early.

Beautiful, thanks !
You are on 35" x 12.5 is that right ?
So big for IFS, I think I'll go no more than 33" x 10.5 for my little rig.
( snowy road / light trail )
At least you have the proper wheel set for your future SAS.
The trails you are exploring are crying out for a solid axle !

Awesome photos! You weren't kidding about having a lot of data your still early in the trip prior to LT. I watched the winch failure video and see what your talking about with the toe in effect. I know the inner tie rod ends and the centerlink will bow under load, the center link will rotate, and the tie rod end "joints" will allow some movement. Sure seems like a lot of movement when its all compounded together!

I think lots of people feed them. They are pretty used to people in there and I guessed if you stood still they'd come have a look to see if you have something to eat.
Whiskey Jacks in the mountains will sometimes do the same.
The squirrels in the parks around here are super fat too. It's funny seeing how well fed they are compared to the arctic version.
Yeah Blaze now you see. I think some of my new wander on the road might be from a worn steering box and possibly a wearing out steering stabilizer. It's not quite two years old but it's seen a lot of miles both on and off road and big tires. No matter the quality of something beat on it enough and it will eventually break. I suppose it's part of the fun. Just not so much fun when the cash is not readily available. We don't want to really hit the savings more then we have.
When I get money coming in again I'll replace them to see. I am sure I can find one at the wrecker.
Edit///
The bearded guy is Anton. Known him since I was a teenager. Super cool dude.

MT Baker and Washington State.
We are just about to discover a McMenamins. They are an awesome pub chain in Washington and Oregon who do up old buildings. We stayed in one in Centralia and one one Bend Oregon. The First was an old whorehouse and the second an old Catholic school. We found other awesome ones along the way.
Really cool pub chain.
In Centralia the new Blazeland LT was installed by Tim at Wild West Offroad. Super cool, we went out for beer and got smashed.

Cascades National Park above.

Winthrop which is like a cowboy themed town and the area surrounding. Went and saw the first Smokejumper base there.

If anyone knows what all these badges painted on the cliff let me know.
There was a dam with a park near it so we went and had a picnic.

A little more wheeling. Don't recall the name of the area of Washington.

Following this awesome day we stopped in Ellensburg which is a college town. We got loaded drunk with college kids.
This is me the next day.

Later we got to Centralia and that sweet McMenamins.
Sarah was also hung over.

They had movies there too!

The Olympic Club. Loved that place. Stayed there three nights.

While that fun was happening so was this!
Tim's is rocking the Blazeland LT as well.

Last camping night in Washington. Cape Disappointment I believe. Nasty raccoons there.
