It's a bitter sweet move. I love Yellowknife.

Plus my dad is moving out. Also bitter sweet. It's been hard having him live with us so am happy he's going but sad he's going. It's tough living with a parent as an adult. He still looks and takes my advice and opinions like they are coming from a child sometimes. Also when he steps out of line in my house and I have to tell him off, really hates that.

At least I was able to help a bit having him stay bill free for 11 months.

It's good that you are able to do that for him though and I'm sure he appreciates it. Kinda funny when you have the power over your parents, doesn't feel right but at the same time it feels so good haha

Sometimes I wonder, he does not listen very well.

At least I never reminded him about the "when it's your house you get to make the rules" line he used on me as a kid. I thought that would be mean.

Looks like he might be able to move back to BC and get a motorcycle again. This is good, he turns 65 Saturday but will not be able to properly retire. If he can keep healthy and alive long enough I hope he can retire on my land. I want him to be healthy and happy before I need to take care of him again. Mom too, she'll love that though. Being so close to dad again..... I'm going to have granny flats in the backyard. An old people complex, the wife's parents will get old and need care too one day. We are both the oldest so feel responsible. They made us after all.

Hey thanks for the Whipsaw trail info. Googled it.

That's happening when I get back.

Already called my bro. He has a stock rubicon. Those heeps are pretty good right out of the box. He's a Yota fan at heart though, had to sell his after the baby was born. It was pretty sweet too. Heep is almost paid off so he can enjoy some moderate wheeling.

Quite roomy inside as well.

I'm too big for the back of the 4Runner if the missus is with me. While I fit it's quite tight. Then the mattress deflated.

Cold uncomfortable night.

Same goes for the cab of a 1st Gen. I like them but could not own one other than as a straight wheeling toy.

When I get a ride in my buddies I steal his armrest. He fits his just fine. The couple extra inches in a 2nd gen are great. I bet a 3rd Gen would be nice, I just don't want to give up my tailgate.

im 6'3 200lbs my fiance is 5'7 5'8ish 150 pounds and my 100 pound pitty sleeps in the back with us as well, you get really creative after a while haha, Usually have a 4 person tent with us now, my body is too beat up to handle sleeping in awkward positions.

^^ oh wow thanks for making me feel like a huge Heffer! Lol I'm about 220lb and I'm only 5'8". Jk Bahahah
Nah I'm working at getting back to my old shape. I gotta get back down to my ripped body at 175lb. Can't believe I've gained 50lb since 2007 senior high school year. Damn....

My girl and I are both about 5'7" - 5'8" and we barely fit in the back of my 4Runner. We actually need to have the pillows on top of the back of the seats kind of at an angle but we still sleep pretty confortably. With the 2 memory foam bed toppers together. Thats about 4" thick of foam plus 1-2 comforters on top of that for my cussion. We slept pretty good on our last 3 day Tiera Del Sol weekend off road trip. That's with the medium sized dog included too.

HAH wasn't tryin to diss you just makin it easier to picture the fairly odd couple with a big slobbering dog tightly packed into the back of a first gen 4runner (look like a nicely packed grizzly snack). the 2nd gen def had more room, its fine to do for one night but i can't handle more than that. Im only 25 but i have the skeletal system of a 50 year old man. I was run over by some dumb 19 year old girl talking on her cell phone when i was 17 and broke everything in my body, and on top of that i dirt bike and smash my body up pretty good doing that.

actually my spine and neck were the only parts of my body that were not severely damaged, a lot of bruising and pain in the spine and neck but my face took most of the force of the concrete and my legs and arms took most of the force of the car. spent 2.5 years learning to walk again. To be honest today the only thing that bugs me is my ankle because of the hardware in it still which is scheduled to come out in the next year. I beat my body harder than i do my truck haha.

Sounds like you're going to be joining the grumpy old man club one day. I know my injuries are catching up not including the current one.

Oh my! I'm in that Club! ..... just minus the grumpy, haha. ... I try to turn it into, "I LIVED!.... now shut up, self!" Hehe

It can suck though, big time! The feet have been killing me lately. .... very debilitating when you work on your feet all day long. I'm working on solutions & its very much trial and error! Have to lose some weight first and foremost. but much of the damage is done due to several fractures in my feet, along with soft tissue damage and bone spurs from kickboxing... it can just be absolutely leveling to the point where I have no choice but to sit down.

I send my best wishes to both of you! I'm definitely aware of how much an accident with countless broken bones and soft tissue injuries can haunt you... definitely more debilitating as I've hit my mid-forties in comparison to when it happened in my early thirties... It is what it is, just have to find ways to work smarter, not harder, and I know when to stop... I just don't always do it! lol .

Question for you guys.

How am I going to use the rear FJ62 axle with the passenger side pumpkin? Besides moving the fuel tank the rear drive shaft will not be in an ideal angle....

What are my options other than getting a custom housing made? I'm not sure if I will have the option to order a diamond axle. It depends on budget really.

Ideas?
