89 Pickup. Mean and Green

89 Pickup. Ugly as Hell.
Recently "inherited" (hes upgrading to a 5 ton) my father's 1989 Toyota pickup. He has had this truck for longer than I have been alive and an unbelievable amount of work and ingenuity has gone into building this truck. It's not pretty, but it's not meant to be. It has gone through some of the nastiest and some of the worst terrain one could think of. It's been rolled countless times, and actually, it's sitting without a windshield because it was rolled recently, go figure. Most of the upgrades on this truck have been fabricated by none other than my father, there is hardly any store bought aftermarket upgrades existent on the truck. The hydraulic arm for the dump bed came from an old forklift.
Well anyway here she is.
At about 1:20 in the video, you can see the actual truck.

Mostly going to be working on getting it street legal. Currently it needs all of the lights, muffler, windshield, and it could use a set of 4 shocks. The front drive shaft also needs to be replaced, its bent at the yoke so it clicks every time it turns. Thinking about toning the tires down from 36" to 35". Most likely going to be some type of all terrain, I'll keep the tsl's for the serious ˟˟˟˟.

Truck does not look to bad for being Rolled as many times as you say it has been. You could probably sell those tires to soak up some of the cost for new smaller tires.
Head to your local u-pull- it and pickup most of your lights and other various items to get it back on the road.
Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Well I got to play with the truck yestrrday and man was it a beating. After looking at the truck for a while I noticed the frame was broken at the leaf spring bushing. We eventually got it welded up but still a bummer to find that. Sorry no pictures. I replaced the engine to pipe lower radiator hose since the one on it had a hole the size of a pea in it. Filled er up with some anti freeze and got her running.
Took her out to a part of the lake thsy was dried up and got her stuck.

It was real nasty. Almost like quick sand. The worst part was that the front axle was on the ground so it acted like a bulldozer scooping all the soft ground. After 5 long grueling hours we finally got the truck out.

Front driveshaft came apart but I was gonna replace it anyway. I think some mud got in one of the injectors. It was sputtering pretty bad when we pulled it out. At the end of the night it was still full with antifreeze, woohoo!
Next time I get the chance to work on it im going to fix the sputtering and look at getting a front driveshaft under it again.
