89 Pickup 4X4 build

Just bought an 89 pickup 4X4 with 301k moles on it for $600.00 getting a new motor put in on 7-13-15. On my head I vision it lookong like the black truck Marty wants from Back to the Future nut we will see as the build moves along.

Thanks man it has some rust but I have seen worse next move see if Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 30X10.5 15LT's will fit or if I need to do the long travel suspension lift first.

Rondog you should be able to fit 33x10.50s on stock wheels on the stock suspension.

My recommendation would be to find a set of factory SR5 wheels (15x7) and wrap them in some 33s.

Thanks Terrys87- I love this truck did you raise yours at all? What size wheels and tires did you run? Did you set it up for rock crawling or high speed desert runs?

I just fixed mine back to stock. I only run 31 inch tires on my trucks. One thing I like to do is take a standard cab dome light and put it where the rear view mirror goes and wire it in. It looks like a factory dome light and makes it much more useable. My wife took over the truck and then wanted a runner. I tried to tell her how hard those extended cabs are to find and she has regretted selling it ever since and hasn't been able to find one. If you click on my avatar and go to my photo album you can see what it looked like when I finished it. It was a great truck.

Back to the Future I want a desert racer like a Mickey Thompson race truck and seemed long travel suspension was the way to go.
