89 2wd 3rz swap
so after much searching and debating .. im posting this thread to simplify the install of a 04 3rz into a 89 22r 2wd pickup street truck. this is gonna be smog legal and bar "CA" legal hopefully
parts consist of this :
04 3rz indv coil engine pink injectors from a 4x4 5 speed
95 2.4 transmission bellhousing
stock 89 transmission 5speed
04 wiring engine wiring harness .and 04 ecu
so my question is if i use a 04 dash will there be a need to use any type of adapter wiring harness? it should plug to the wiring harness and ecu
heres it so far

good bye burnt out lc engineering 22r
heres the differances in the transmission belhousing and what your gonna have to switch around when u do the swap..
starter is on the other side..
also clutch fork and clutch slave /line uses same throwout bearing
here is a comparison of the 95 and 89 hilux 5 speed transmission .. basically the same but the shifter is located farther back on the tacoma

day 2.. engine is in .. had lots of clearance issues with steering and crossmember and sway bar all still hit the t100 oil pan so.. cut them out i did ! lol
as u can see the idler arm sits higher on this side and at a weird angle and hits the oil pan so i just took the 2 bolts out swiveled it down and now a perfect stright steering system like it should have been
