thanks, ....and ummmmm, I don't think it's the same, ...... AT ALL! LOL. But the job is pretty straight forward, ...you'll do a great job, as usual

Take care, man....

OH, btw, .... you HAVE TO SEE "Horrible Bosses", HB! SORRY for the tangent, ...but honestly, it's the funniest dang thing I've seen in MANY years. And I'm not much of a "filth" humor overload kinda guy like with so many movies being the same, lately, ya know? They're funny, just not my thing too much... but THIS WAS FREAKIN HILARIOUS! Anyway, if you need a good laugh and you're waiting on parts, .... GO SEE IT WITH THE WOMAN! lol.

started the tear down of my axle today, was only able to get one side done. the birf is in perfect condition, but i need to order marlins axle service kit.

and it begins...

the hub

cone washers gone

snap ring out and off

caliper off- might need a new one, or just use my ifs ones. anybody know if they will work?

lock washer and nut out

and yes, i did have a 2 1/8 socket lying around, so thats how i got that out

rotor off

whats left of the upper trunnion bearing

rock rings, felt and knuckle off

all i got done today, more to come later

i thought you had to use FJ rotors, but according to T-G's website you can use your rotors:
vented rotor link
as long your axle is an 81-85...

You're talking about the front axle, yes?

im assuming this is an open diff? never seen the inside of one before

i also couldnt get the rotor off the pass. side hub, it is different from the drivers hub. The drivers has 8 bolts holding the rotor in:

and the pass. had two bolts, and the rest were studs. do i have to take these studs out or..?
