Well alright tracked down a high steer in good order for 200 bucks with everything on it besides a pitman. I will decide what pitman when I get there for now still just collecting parts. I started messing around with the scion seats and Tried to first get my stock seat in better working order it's basically off of the brackets that make it lean back and forward and it's just kinda stuck leaning back I put the scion seat to find that it is huge !! Didn't seem like it but it really is huge. A guy that I follow on Instagram had posted he put them in and just got it as close as he could to the center console and then drilled holes for the rest. He also said he kept the original brackets on the seats I'm kinda stumped as to how he did that chefyota mark got them in but he modified the brackets with heat and bending them to get them in 87 Mountain Raider-photo817.jpg

87 Mountain Raider-photo246.jpg87 Mountain Raider-photo68.jpg
So now I guess I try and see what I want and where I can get them too. The other seat how ever doesn't have the bracket on it and the guy I got them from didn't have the bracket any longer. I did get the pair for 20 bucks and delivered for free
But now I have another project to get finished up on it. Which is good I stare at my truck when I have time and no kids or wife around just pondering what to do with my time so luckily I can figure it out some how. I do have a crappy little harbor freight 90 amp welder in the garage. I have a propane torch I can use to heat it up. But I'm thinking about going to the junk yard and pulling some brackets off of a broke down 3.0 runner and seeing if I can get them to attach to the scion seats. Other then that I'm still trying to decide what to work with I originally want to do something like jaguar seats leather and power but that was looking like more work then it's worth. I have also seen some sweet seats from mr2s and some celica seats in them that look pretty good. But again Toyotas are sought out after here so people
Want $$$ for them. Good condition scion seats for 20 bucks. ... I'll make them fit hahaha 87 Mountain Raider-photo858.jpghahahaa

Also did some little fabrication work and had a piece of angle bar in the garage and made a bracket to hold a bracket haha for the CB antenna but I'm not sure about height of the antenna seems WAY to high 87 Mountain Raider-photo342.jpg
87 Mountain Raider-photo585.jpg
I dunno let me know what ya think I already know it's gonna be whacking around on trees might move it down to the bottom corner and the antenna will still poke above the truck

Building a kit for the rest of everything I need
Need diffs with 4.88
Another set of rear toyota springs
Set of 63" Chevys
Jigs and tubes
Steering box relocate plate
Spring hanger and hangers for Chevy springs
Pit man arm
Front driveline
Backing plate eliminator
Extended shocks

I need to get this thing finished and highway ready before September I start school and gotta drive it regularly
Right now I have the axle disassembled and already armored up the front diff I have has no gears in it and all my seals are good. I have a set of bearings and seals I bought for my ifs but decided to save them for the new axle. Gonna use my ifs hubs to lengthen my wms to ifs length will be doing front break upgrade with v6 rotors calipers and hopefully the booster as well. Trying to get as many used parts as I can to save on cash. I've just been staring at my truck in the drive way waiting for me to act on it 87 Mountain Raider-photo995.jpg ready to act and get this done cash is kinda an issue so the parts are still slowly marchin in
Help is welcomed and any one in the Portland area with time that's willing I'd love it and help out any way I can

Been quite awhile since I've posted on here. My 87 got stolen but I got 4K from insurance for it so I decided to cut my losses and go buy another one I was on Craigslist for a bit. I looked at 3 different rigs. One was a 89 with a turbo and was super clean but had about 500 dollars worth of work and time it needed and didn't feel like messing tuning the turbo. So I looked at a 3rz swap turbo body 88 super clean but no title and kinda expensive for what the guy had. So I decided on the last one I checked out. It is a 86 was made in December of 86 so it's the 87 model I don't know that it was a sr5 has all the stuff my last 87 had. Except was power everything. But everything worked and the sunroof wasn't cracked!!! Such a nicer rig has a new engine with 20k on it 22re LCE adjustable cam gear steel timing chain guides all engnbldr parts. New radiator wired for a winch all custom bumpers a swing out tire carrier along with room for 2 jerry cans. Sliders. Has chevy springs in the rear SAS with TG 3" springs up front 4.88 gears Aussie in the rear anti wrap bar on the back. 2" body lift which I don't like. Came with a light bar. Custom center console it was on 33" bfg km2s but they looked really silly with how much lift was on it so I left it with 4.88s and put 37/12.50/15 interco trxus mts and it is now sitting a lot nicer rides great. Probably my favorite tire I've ever had. I've got a few plans for it as far as performance stuff. Supra afm, dual batter. Front Arb. Eventually get rid of the body lift. All the bumpers and sliders are built around the body lift so I'd have to cut and re weld everything the gas tank was sucked up under the body more and has the bracket shortened. I have some hi lift mounts I'm going to weld onto the tire carrier along with another bracket to hold shovel and axe as well o also has a pan hard bar that I'm not to sure why it's on there? Gotta remove it and check flex and high speed steering Attachment 107434
Attachment 107432
Before with the 33s
Attachment 107430Attachment 107431 after the 37s

Yea I am putting in a kill switch to the fuel pump with 2 switches in line hidden on different sides of the truck. Gotta club now and eventually I will re key the ignition to a different key maybe a gm key or something

It's a panhard bar. It's used to laterally locate the axle. It isn't typically used with leaf spring suspensions but it can be. The S10/Sonoma ZR2 Highriders had them from the factory on their rear axles.

That's what I thought. Just curious why it would be on a leaf spring setup

If the springs had some super crazy arch to them I could see a panhard bar helping to keep the axle centered under the frame but it's pretty well documented that with these trucks and a modest lift it's not necessary.

It's getting removed the guy put it on there for highway travel so I may just find a way for quick release. That being said I haven't driven it with out it yet. Friends have said it helps with bump steering and turning on angles when flexed. But I also think that it's working against the cross over steering

So I took the pan hard off and checked some flexing on a loading dock. Huge improvement

Tomorrow I'll take some pics off all the interior. I'm really pleased with the center console and relocation of the window switches.

I'm having an issue rolling down the drivers window. It won't roll down and it gets to a point where it hits the latch system and opens the door. I also can't open the door from the out side because the rod that connects the out side handle to the latch is broken. Very frustrating. Also not being able to pop my head out the window to watch my tire is annoying to.
