I figured this would be an easy fix. My bulb behind my HVAC climate control panel went out. Saw a video on YouTube and the guy suggested for his 88 to use the Sylvania 74 mini bulb. Got a box of 10 off of Amazon and went to do the swap.

Opened her up and low and behold the original bulb is smaller than the Sylvania 74. After hours and hours on google, amazon, oem parts sites, etc. I cannot find this damn bulb.

Anyone have any idea where I might be able to get one or more?

Markings are "s14v" "1.4w" and nothing else.

I am thinking of splicing in a new socket to accept the Sylvania 74, as from what I have seen it is the same wattage and volts, but I would like to avoid that if possible.

 

I believe the Sylvania 2721 is what you need.

So after breaking out the calipers and checking the socket size, I found these E74 bulbs. Apparently, it's the European version of the 74 bulbs. These CEC E74's are an exact fit. Now my HVAC climate control panel is backlit.
