Thanks man. I need to get this pile done so that we can get back out there.

Still waiting on parts. Suppose to be here on Monday. I know what I'll be doing Thanksgiving weekend!

I finally worked up the nerve to tackle the butchered passenger side motor mount today. The PO, in all his infinite wisdom, decided to hack most of it off, for what reason eludes me, maybe he was trying to cut weight. Anyway, I used some 3/16" plate to reinforce the mount so that it can withstand the 7 ft/lbs of torque that this little 22re puts out.

Some days I can't believe that I paid money for this thing.

My reinforcement.

All burned in.

I went ahead and plated the driver side mount as well.

No kidding. I'm learning my lesson about buying vehicles from tweekers the hard way.

Thanks for all the welding pointers Ted! Still not looking pretty, but that will come with practice, at least I know they'll hold.

I took inventory, a few weeks back, of all the "little stuff" I still needed and placed an order with WabFab. I took full advantage of his Free Shipping offer going on this month and saved $222 on shipping.

^That's me!

Anyway, all my new parts came in today, to include FJ80 tie rod ends, new tie rod & drag link, wheel spacers, 14" shocks, shock hoops, steering stabilizer, triple drilled diff flange, rear diff armor, and a bunch of other little junk.

These spiffy new shocks are my favorite part. I'm not sure how I'm going to fit them in there yet but I'm determined.

Thanks to Trail Gear, the wife won't need to buy any bubble wrap to send out Christmas presents this year.

What's up with all those shiney new parts...the look pertty.. Got a question about WabFab, how long does it take for him to ship the stuff out? I know your stuff came from trail gear, but I ordered 891 OME springs 6 business days ago and haven't received an email about shipping yet. I ask cause this isn't the first time youve ordered from him. The shipping was the only reason I ordered from him this time.

I ordered on the 4th, recieved an email that it had shipped on the 16th, UPS took possession of the packages on the 17th, and I recieved everything on the 21st. Total of 11 business days not counting the 4th since I ordered after hours. To be clear, I'm not complaining, that's pretty much what I expect with 3rd party vendors, and the free shipping really helps. When I need something in a hurry and can't find it locally, I call and order directly from the source, ie. Trail Gear or Marlin Crawler.

Get over here this weekend Travis and you can see everything in the boxes, mounted on the truck, and all the fun in between.

Same here. The wife teases me because I get so excited when I order parts that I run to the window anytime I hear a large truck on my street, just hoping that it's the UPS guy!

OH NO! Mine too!

As to my WabFab order, I sent an email asking if it was something that was being drop shipped from somewhere else and he never answered that question...just responded with "you'll get an email when it ships". WOW! That's awesome customer service...if it weren't for the free shipping, I wouldn't have ordered through him. I'll pm the email so you can see the whole conversation...it not drawn out like my post's in your build thread, quite short actually...I promise.

I braced some shock tabs that were cut off the rear axle to use on the front and fabbed up some rear lower shock mounts to place the shocks low on the axle.

I also got the front bump-stop extensions, shocks, & hoops mounted.

Thanks man. I'm hoping to get the rear axle buttoned up and installed tomorrow, but probably nothing serious until the weekend. I need to get it rollable and turned around in the driveway so that I can reach the rearend with the welder. I ordered a new pitman arm from Marlin on Friday and it shipped today so hopefully I'll have steering be the end of the week. Unfortunately, I still need to rebuild this steering box because I traded away my non-leaking spare, ahem!!

Sounds good, I'll check with you this weekend. To set the record straight and to make you feel better about the situation, my power steering pump is leaking pretty bad. Let me know how the rebuild goes, I may have to do the same.

So 3linked84 offered to set up the gears in my rearend for me and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Thanks Connor! It feels good to finally have matching gears front and rear and finally get that rear axle back together. He found that the 3rd that I had pulled out of the rear was trashed, imagine that, so he installed the locker and gears into the diff out of the front that was replaced with the high pinion. Because the front diff was from an '83, the flange was different and would not bolt to the rear driveshaft. I swapped it out this morning with the triple drilled flange from Trail Gear.

Got the rear axle slapped together and mounted up.

The driveshaft still fits.

Here's the latest ride height, nice'n'low, well, compared to where it was.

The front end looks a little freakish with the axle so far forward, but I'll get used to it.
