Dayummmmmmm, Nate! Great pics.... sorry bout the 'rear-corner-carnage!' lol.

"Armor, CHECK! Superflex, CHECK! Carnage, ..... check, dangit!" lol.

Would TG rear bumper have stopped that?

Thanks Chef! I'm not worried about the body damage at all, as long as everything that's supposed to open still opens, I'm happy. I figured the whole thing would look like hamburger meat within the first year anyway.
A Trail-gear bumper probably would have prevented most of the damage though.

Yeah, a little rubbing compound should do the trick!
Probably going to look into a cage of some sort before too long.

The UPS guy left a box from LowRange Offroad in my driveway this morning. I found all this neat stuff inside. I'm not really sure what to do with it, so I guess I'll just throw it all in the corner with my two extra top shift, gear drive transfer cases until I figure something out.

Anyone know what this means?

On a side note, LowRange is my new favorite company. I've placed two orders with them in the past week. Both orders were placed at night, shipped the next day, and arrived in 2 business days. Plus, their prices are better than anyone else (they had the Trail-Gear dual case adaptor for $50 less than Trail-Gear) and they seem to have stuff in stock, so no additional waiting on drop shipping! I hate waiting!!!

Did you mention something about a trans swap or was the a340h able to take a gear drive case?

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you I looked into it more after we talked. Inch Worm makes the adaptor for the 340H, so I'm good to go! http://www.inchwormgear.com/store/pr...products_id=86

The 5 speed is still yours if you want it.

Is it working well? My 4th Syncro is TOAST! ... So, it's either 'rebuild it myself for 400$'.... or have AA Gear do it just as nice for 550$! hahaha. Hey, if you're gonna throw it away, ...just sayin! hahha. JK.... BUT SERIOUSLY.... if he isn't interested, lemme know, k? I have to hit Havasu in a couple months.... Maybe a few weeks depending on my Pop's....

3linked84 has done more than I could ever mention to help me out on this build, to include setting up gears, hooking up parts, good advice, letting me bounce ideas off of him to get some sound feedback, and even refreshing my motivation when I got in some ruts by inviting me to hit the trails with him and 85 T4Runner (who also helped alot).
So, when I found out his tranny was on its way out, it was the least I could do to offer him the one from my retired trail rig. Should he decide to fix his instead, I was hoping to sell the tranny, ECU, and clutch assembly as a package deal for someone local looking to convert from auto to manual.

Last weekend one of the rigs in our group managed to rip off the cross-member that supported the lower links for his rear 4-link. This made for an interesting trip back to the highway in front-wheel drive and a ride home on a tow truck. I think this especially affected me, because I had an on-board welder sitting at home that just hadn't been installed yet. If I would have had it at the time, we could have burned everything back together and continued to wheel. So... not again!

Premier Power Welder

160 Amp alternator

Mounted it under the hood, for now at least.

It was time.......

85T4Runner stopped by yesterday to help me do some "clearancing."

Gutted the rear

Hacked off the back

Cut off another 12" and burned the rear back on.

Before

After

Good idea on the power welder...oh and the bed shortening is awesome too. 3linked and 85T 4Runner seem to come in handy for helping out with jobs like this. Those are good friends to have indeed.

On another note, are you and they good for this upcoming WoodPecker run on Sunday? I posted up for a show of hands in the Az Roll call thread... I don't feel worthy of wheeling with you guys with your SFA lifted and locked rigs. Kinda makes me feel puny with my DD.
