Neat tires, looks like they are made to go great in the mud.
Your runner looks good with them.

Thanks.

Originally, yes. I combined 2 sets of 47" rears to make the front spring packs. This ended up being too short for my particular application and gave me a lousy shackle angle. So, I recently built new spring packs combining rear 51" springs from a '93 pickup and another set of 47" springs. There are pictures and descriptions of this on the previous page.

That's a good idea Jeff. I've been so focused on the uderside of this thing that I haven't paid any attention to the rest. I think I'm so used to seeing the windshield like that, that I forgot how ugly it was. I'll let you know if the shake-down run comes together for next weekend.

Thanks, that's good to hear. These things would be cool in a 37".

Then, I got to go test it out!

Still have a couple of kinks to work out but I'm happy with it.

Impresive flex man nice work!!!

85 T4Runner stopped by to help button up a couple of things today, and he agreed to let me use his truck to test the flex. I think it's ready.

His truck did well too.

I understand how this is bad but what if ,instead of welding a bar to it, it had been a home madeto piece with the 2 leaf mounts on a single 4 inch square tube that was braced on the back side of it.. would that have been acceptable?

That's funny that you saw it. I'd say you made a smart decision passing it up.

Dropping the hanger too much affects caster angle. I just think there are better ways to accomplish lift.

The runner is looking great Nate. It has some really good flex. I can't wait to see it on the trails. The only thing it is missing is a little body damage.

Shake down run complete! Still have some fine tuning to do, but overall I'm impressed with how well it did. The biggest issue seemed to be gearing, which I had anticipated and am already working on.
I just got a new camera, and apparently it doesn't take very good video, but here's what I've got.

Here's our whole line-up.

Fortunately, I decided to armor up a little more before the first run. I welded on this rediculously awesome diff armor that was given to me by 3linked84. I was bulldozing through rocks with confidence!

And, although I really wanted to make sliders, time became the issue and I ended up ordering these from Low Range Offroad. I'm glad I did, they got used!

But, I still got bit! Oh well, that's what it was built for.
