'87 4x4 x-tra cab v8 conversion help needed
Ok, I am the best ,or worst, procrastinator. I have been planning to do the conversion forever. Now I am ready. I found a L33 w/AT & transfer-case with only 35K miles I got a super deal on all the parts needed to get the motor running legal (smog wise) here in Ca. All the parts are out of the same truck so I know there won't be any compatibly problems.
So I get out my old dusty Downey Off-Road chevy conversion manual that I brought from them a few years ago, (remember I said 'Procrastinator' ? Now I find out that Downey Off-Road is out of business since July 31 2009, which is weird because I bought their Super Clutch II in June of 09, even drove down to Santa fe springs to pick it up and Jim, the owner, never even mentioned that they were closing.
Anyway my question is where can I buy all the parts I need to make the switch over. Like headers, crossmember adapter, ect ,you know all the stuff Downey had put together to make the swap as painless as possible ?
Or do I have to go to plan B and find a late 80's/early 90's S10 4x4 ? I think that would be mucho easier, but if I was going for easy I would just stick with my full size 4x that I am driving now. I WANT MY V8 CHEVOTA !! HELP
Thanks
