87 4runner build

just starting a full build on my 87 4runner that i just picked up

.i bought it with a blown tranny and oil leaks....but the frames solid and theres not much rust at all

.already came with a 3in body lift, bilstein shocks in the front and air shocks in the back and 54in leafs for the rear that werent installed yet

.i have the rear disk conversion kit and a marlin built heavy duty tranny is on the way

.i plan to do a sas and all the suspension in the near future

.pulling the motor and tranny all tomorrow so i figured id start the thread now and see if you guys got any tips along the way

cool. if you pull your valve cover off check the condition of your timing cover and guides with that mileage unless you know theyve been replaced. check for grooves in the drivers side of the cover and the conditon of the plastic guides.
