I know its not the greatest pic but its the only one I got. Inside the red circle is the plate/cover thing Im talkin about. Check for looseness or missing bolts. Im thinkin that is the cause of your problem.

Now I'm seeing on a Marlin Crawler forum that the head bolt torque at 62lb. I read in the Chilton manual that it is something different!

I torque to 60. Anywhere in there is really pretty good. 58 is what the Haynes says to go to but the FSM says 62. I jus met in the middle. You will most likely have to do the head gasket again if it wasnt torqued properly.

Were you able to check that block off plate on the back of the head?

Still can't see anything. And now there is 12" fresh on the ground! Ha! Looking a new ARP with complete head and all. Some where around $1,850.. Might be a lot of money to fix this bitch.

Getting engine from Yoda Jim's within the up coming weeks. Jim tells me his go to installer Jesse Myers in Golden is the man for the job. Cost of Engine somewhere around $800-$1,000. Install around $850.

Jim's out of Denver has a 87' 22re with 108k for $1,000. Doing all new seals oil pan, valve cover, crank and, rear main seal.

Back and running. Sad I had to pay somebody to put the engine in but that was my only option. Now I need some 30x9.50 BFG ALL TERRAINS

Fresh install of a set of Big O A/T's stock size. $590 installed. MMMM Fresh knobys! Time for new shocks as well.. Must pay bills first!

I see 4wheelparts has a BUY 4 Pro Comp shocks get a FREE steering stabilizer! Add a Pro Comp Add a leaf and my stock Runner suspenion would be very plush for sure. All for around $160!
