yes. That is why when SASing, 1400 should always be worked into the budget for longfields.

I thought a solid axle was supposed to be the answer for strength? How many IFS joints did you kill? Just seems wierd to blow to joint first time out. Am I missing something?

Truck looks great. Sucks you broke birfs though, time to upgrade

Did you build your rear bumper?? It is exactly what I want mine to look like in the future.

Longfields will take at least 40's.

Stockfields, not so much.

How long are your shackles?

If you do it properly, yes. Stock axles will do 33's pretty well. 35's for a while.

A cheap SAS is not nessarily a good SAS. It's just appealing. 5k is kind of the minimum to do it right, if you use a kit, and if you are just avearage joe and don't know people in the industry. That is with the stock housing, which can have it's own problems (robinhood just went through the most common-bent). You want a better housing- add some more to that.

Longfields are 700 bones for the set. They carry a lifetime warranty-they break, you get a free set. Rears are just plain easy, and another 6-700 depending on the kit. After fixing on the trail a couple times, most seem to think it's a good investment.

trust me, longs are on the list. it's mainly the locker that kills stockers... i didn't think 33s would be a problem, but apparently they were. i was pretty bound up both times too... i pulled out 3 CVs, but never actually broke one. front shackles are 6" eye-to-eye. rear bumper was built by my roommate and myself.

Looks f***ing killer!!! How does your 3.slow and 4.10 gears feel about them? One of these days I will ditch the pizza cutters.

i'll be back in SLO mid Sept. we'll have to do some wheeling.

Marc, the 3.0L and 4.10s definitely don't like the 35s... 5.29s are coming soon though. what tires are you going with eventually?

You're sagging in the rear.

I really dont think I will go over 33x12.5's, but who knows. All I know is the bigger I go...the slower I go. And as you guys know the 3.slow with auto is a gutless wonder...even with 4.88's

Robinhood-dont laugh...I am sagging a bit too

yeah, 3.0L and auto is bad combo for anything bigger than stock... i'm hoping 5.29s will wake it up enough. i don't think i'll ever go bigger than this, but who knows. Marc, i think you could do 35s no problem on yours. the rear should be coming up, and rear axle going back, a couple inches soon. i'll post pics of that once i get it going...

Whtas the BS on those rims?? Do you rub any?

Trying to decide what TG springs to go with, i already have the 35's.... Thinking of the 4"ers, want to stay as low as posisble.

3.75" backspaced 15x10s... they rub quite a bit, but the sawzall will fix that. i would go TG 3s or 4s. the 5s just don't hold their height...

I am thinking 4's, Front and Rear...

I have 15x8's on 3.75 so that should help the rubbing... I have already trimmed the front to get them to fit with my 4" IFS.. and if the axle goes foreword 1.5" I should be good.

I would like to go with the 3" springs, but wow that seems LOW for 35's, and I have a heavy bumper and winch.......

I saw your rig on LOVR yesterday. I like your front bumper, definately sets you apart from other runners.

Your moonrocks pics in this thread aren't working for me right now.

Did you use a torch or hole saw for the shackle tubes? Did you move your steering box? Got any pics of the D-shaft? What joints did you use (modified from the IFS shaft?) Wish you'd done anything differently?
