3vze build 1991 Pickup
New to the forum. My work in progress 1991 Toyota Pickup ext 1ton... 5 speed. for the most part all stock minus LCE Intake and Headers and a custom RRRM 2.5 dynomax exhaust... all the emission deletes..
planning in 2 months to get started on tearing down to build the 3vz and get some power out of it. no swap.. I like the engine. reliable, sounds decent and gets terrible gas mileage. my kind of engine. its different. so.... I came here to share and all are welcome
my biggest question. I have done some research but many dead links and dead ends due to age... looking for forged piston manufacturers, engine management solutions, whatever people have done.. My goal is to try and broaden the torque curve since this truck will be used for towing. has already hauled plenty of weight on a regular basis. my peak was 3720lbs in the bed!! but that was the extremity... usually its around 1500lbs. carries quite decently. Toyota build a very good riding truck.
stock dyno-
105hp 145tq
after mild bolt ons
121hp 150tq
much broader curves
looking at cams, will be porting heads, custom intake manifold,
need to decide on pistons/ compression
engine management
have upgraded spray pattern fuel injectors... from ebay. anybody use these??
any questions please ask and all input appreciated.
