So I’m absolutely stumped. I’ve got a 93 pickup with the 22re. It’s a pre runner and randomly while driving the check engine light will kick on and the truck will loose power and sputter and bog hard. Sometimes the truck will completely die and other times the check engine light turns off and the truck is right back to normal power. Cleaned MAF and did new pig tail. As well did plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor and still does it. Any help would be much appreciated

 

Did you check for check engine codes? Its trying to tell you whats wrong.

 

I haven’t been able to because the code only pops up for a couple minutes at a time and it typically happens when I’m in the desert

 

It would be worth checking even if the light isnt still on. The code may be stored. 5 min with a paper clip and youll know.
