2 toys 94 4runner build

Figured its time I should start a build thread after doing loads of work on my runner over the last three years. I'm starting to lose track of things I've done to it.

So I'll start from the beginning.

Saved my runner from the junk yard in 2010 bone stock 1994 v6 sr5 4x4 automatic fully load with all the goodies 160k on the clock.she had a whole in the block the size of a baseball. But despite that it was super clean looked like she'd never seen dirt.

She sat around for six months or so while I gathered some cash for a rebuilt engine. Found a local Toyota (guru) 2 grand later I was the proud owner of a rebuilt 3.slow in hind sight witch never fails to be 2020 i should have not wasted my time and money. Should have just went for the 3.4 swap. Nevertheless got her running down the road. first thing I notice damn heater reeks of coolant. In my noobness this having been my first motor change I smashed the s##t out of the inlet and outlet tubes of my heater core trying to mate the motor and trans. So that was my second task on the truck. After that came the stereo.
Then I did a damn near full rebuild of the brakes calipers, rotors, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, the whole nine.

So I drove it around for about a year after that I soon grew tired of the lame power sucking auto transmission. The gods smiled upon me and dropped a 92 4runner in my lap with a blown motor and guess what a 5spd the best part of it is that it only had 155k on it and I traded it for a roof repair that only took me two hours score!!! After tons of research on this wonderful site it didn't take long to put the 5spd in my 94 best thing I've done to it so far!

For the sake of trying to keep the back story short I'm just gonna make a list of things ive done up until now.

Air bags to get rid of the a$$ sags
Replaced ac pump
New fan support bracket
New front wheel bearings
aisin manual hub conversion
Regeared front and rear diffs from 4:88 the 4:30s ( I know sounds sacrilegious but the milage was killin me and I had the 4:30s sitting around.
New idler arm
Pitman arm
Steering dampner
Inner and outer tie rods
Replaced steering gear box (tons of play??? My 90 has 370k and its tight like a tiger wtf is up with that?
Cobra cb mounted in the ashtray slot
That's all I can think of for now I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of stuff but I'll save that for another post.

I bought a 94 4runner for $200 with a blown head gasket. the body is in great shape and the interior is near perfect. from what I gather the 3.0L engine is garbage, should I replace it or do the 3.4L conversion that I've been reading about? Where and how do I get the info on how to do this? It is currently and automatic, will I have to change everything out to do this? I just don't know where to start. can you help?

If you have the mechanical ability and the extra cash the 3.4 swap is definitely the way to go. Guess it depends on what direction you want to go with your runner I personally don't care how much money I end up putting in my truck because I will never sell it.that being said I wish I had never rebuilt my 3.0 its a pos.
As far as finding info you've come to the right place yotatech has all the info you'll need you just have to search.

Many parts are interchangeable however this is not a direct bolt in. Check out off road solutions.com they make a conversion wiring harnesses and exhaust crossovers if you don't want to tackle them yourself. Another good site to check out is Toyota only swaps.com
I'm just about to start my swap within the next month I'll keep this thread updated as much as I can so you can see what issues come up.
