Thank you. Yeah I just ordered an engine kit from Lexus and called a local yota yard and they are pulling a dash harness and cluster from a 22re sr5 manual for me to pick up on Wednesday so I can start the wiring. As I can't use the Lexus cluster unless I run it as an auto.

ok so it has been a few days since i have posted on here. sorry for that. have been trying to get stuff going on this but between work and my friends and familys cars having problems its makeing it a little hard and it is bugging me. well i took the motor apart to reseal and relap the valves to make sure i dont have any problems waiting for me. im not going to check the bearings as i dont have to money to do them if they need to be done and as the car was running befor hand i think they are good. so heres some pics. oh and if the size of my pictures are bothering anyone let me know i will have to have my computer guy help me out on shrinking them. and as for the spelling that just cant be fixed.

ok and now the bad news....... i had to spend the money for my engine kit on other bills so i wont be able to put it back together tell i get my taxes back im thinking. bummer.
and if you are woundering why i numbered the valves its because i would like to buy the least amount of shims as possible.

i also started the wiring tonight. i have been looking at the hole mess of wiring and diagrams for the last 4 hours and going through it im gonne be having nightmares about wiring for weeks. hahahaha. but all in all its not to bad just a matter of takeing out the traction control and what not. i was trying to stay away from cutting anything but ended up only cutting 3 of the connectors off and will splice them back into the works.

and yes that is in my living room, an i just happen to have the coolest girlfriend in the world to be letting me do this in the living room, well its the perks of living in an apartment.

here is my rear o2 sensor harnesses and the DLC. im so glade its obd2 so much to find problems.

and i have to put this one on here as it was somewhat amusing. so i was being a tard and got my runner stuck an some freshly plowed snow in my work parking lot. well i wont be doing that again untell i get my lift and lockers.

but when i get the wiring all finished and in the truck running with no issues i will post a detailed list of how i wired it and what not but it will be at the end of this hole thing so you will have to wait a few months.

Nice work shaggy!
Could you post anything you think is relevant to the wiring swap/hybrid. Since I know this is the trickiest part to the swap I'd like to catalog and archive a uz wiring notes and schematic. To help my swap and future swappers(totally made that up).
I'm going to try to create a label sheet to label the harnesses before they get merged.

well i have all the wires of the lexus harness labled but 4 of them. 2 that are in the ec1 connnector wich is the 11 pin harness that is on the left side of the engine bay of the lexus. the harness has the a/c compressor the oil pressure switch and the oil level switch in it. the other 2 wires i have yet to lable. the other 2 are in the II2 connector that is on the engine harness and the other side of it is the dash harness. will start on the yota harness tomarrow i think. im pretty sure if i tried to do it tonight my girlfried may just kill me.

Hey shag if you can scan your notes, I'll try and make up a new wire schematic. I would like to do this because, a. It will get me more familiar without the wiring & b. Future trouble shooting.
I draw alot, I am proficient with autocad, so having a nice digital schematic will be nice.

the only thing is the wiring for my ls400 is a 95 and it is obd2. so the wiring may be different to the older stuff unless the wires are jsut not there in the older harnesses for the dlc i havent had the time to check. coz im still on tis. it expires tomarrow. but yeah as for the wiring ill email you if you pm me your address and ill figure out how to attach it. im not so smart with the computers. and as for notes as of know they are all in my head ill work on putting them to paper.

i was fully intending on doing the 3.4 swap in the begening. but the guy i work with had the car so its just how it all played out. and i would much rather have obd2 anyways as it makes diag much easier. although i think the wiring may be all the same with just those pins not in the harness ill look into it tomarrow.

wich incidentally having obd2 will make it a little harder to delete the auto tranny from it as well i think.

looking good. I saw on another post your looking at the machined fly wheel and decided on the KS racing bell housing.

Let us know what you found. Your the first to get the KS housing and I was wondering about the quality of the parts. Would like to know how the setup turns out.

Its like Christmas.... Yay
