Ok so I recently aquired a 87 xtracab. I have always wanted one but this one has been well abused. But the engine has been bored .20 over and has a blown headgasket. So I'm going to rebuild it this week. Any thing I should know, or tricks I should do while I pump the life back into my 22re?

 

So as it turns out the head gasket was not blown, the timing chain came loose and cracked the timing cover just behind the water pump.so when out was running the pressure from the water pump was sucking the oil out and mixing it with the coolant, so it looked like a head gasket need replaced. But I already tore then block down so now it will have all new gaskets.
