got my tires balanced today, gonna adjust the valves and retorque the head tomorrow. also gonna start building my flat steel front bumper, got a few ideas and tricks up my sleeve

No,you wont have to upgrade the wiring.When you dont have enough power,its hard on things.You will just have enough power to run everything +, without putting stress on other parts of the system.Nice upgrade,I want.

Got a question, how much coolant does these things hold?

 

I think it's near 2 Gallons... Like 1.75? Can't remember, and I SHOULD know that, lol. Seem to remember emptying a gallon, then most of another..WHEN FULLY emptied, and I mean like ''brand new build that doesn't have any in the motor/heater core/etc.".... i THINK 2 Gallons is plenty, including the reservoir, for TOTALLY empty. But if you're just adding... after draining what you can get out from the radiator drain plug? Just over a gallon I would think?

Pretty sure it's in the Haynes even. ??? Should be in the FSM as well. If you don't find it by the time I look, I'll post it up.

 

thinkin about mounting back up lights on top of my tool box, they ground through the mount tho, and im wondering if they will ground through the aluminum?

 

it should be able to ground through it. if not just run a jumper wire from the light mounting bolt on the inside of the box, to the box mounting bolts going to the bed. There is a little more resistance going through aluminum over steel or copper, but you should be fine without the wire. i would check the resistance on the ground side once you have it set up. but should be an easy set up eather way.

I Like how the Vbelt pulley is already on there! Another guy has a tech thread with a 120A Jaguar Alternator, but you have to remove the pulley and add your own.(Not a huge deal)... AND, it's plug is EXACTLY the same as the Toyota plug in ours.

How's your plug sitch? Same connector?
