Yota on 46's

Bought my 85 pickup as a pile of junk ready for the scrapyard. After three years of productive boredom, it's now a monster. The 22R is now bored 80 over and has 11:1 compression pistons with gapless rings. It's hard not to notice my other Franken-mods.

Looks like it has a 46...how far are you going to push the front axle forward so you can turn or are you going to link it? Axle choice?Name: profilepic133043_1.gif_zpstfccdvd4.jpeg

I saved my 85 from the crusher and just wanting to see what on looked liked on 46s. As far axle choices and gearing that is out of my area know how to go about it.

FINALLY! I can cruise at 60 all day, even uphill with 5.29's. Before the rebuild. I can hit 70 but the tires are only rated for 60 and weigh half as much as the truck.

Stock Yota axles, I'll upgrade to chromoly everything as it breaks. I moved the front axle forward 6in and the rear back 5.5in. I made a hydrogen kit for it and still manage 30mpg, hopefully more now. 5min into the first drive after the engine build a stater wanted to impound it, so I'm working on making it legal (BS) and the rear freeze plug let go 5 min after that. Perfect way to end the year. i did drive it for a few months with the 46's with no hassle.

30 mpg? you measured your miles with a GPS?
What gears are you running?
What brake up grades did you do?

This is when I first bought it. Don't ever buy boggers. I always wanted a set, but they're crap.

5.29 gears are perfect. Yes, distance via maps navigation on my phone. Dual diaphragm brake booster, 1in master cylinder, and four piston brake calipers. I can lock up the front tires if I have to. The H2O2 kit makes one hell of a difference. More torque too. The secrets to a good one are a stainless steel cell, potassium hydroxide electrolyte, and distiller water.

It was my daily driver for a year, now I live right next door to my new job doing custom fabrication. I really want to do massive 4 links and unimog axles when I can. I have MANY projects.

Thos tires look like they rub a ton!

Mog axles would be sweeet! Truck looks much better painted too!

Ive never been impressed with a stock bogger. You need to cut up the lugs to get some lateral traction. But in loose wet woods, they hook up great.

Thank you. I finally found a pic of how I cut/siped my boggers. this gave me twice as much traction as before but I still felt like I was going to understeer off the road and die at any moment.
