I still have stock steering. After the springs got broken in the steering seems better. It's still kind of marshmellowy and the turning radius is poor but drivable. I bought a drop draglink but haven't installed it. High steer is the ultimate way to go and I'm sure I will figure that out soon enough.

My main problem now is my front tires both rub the fender well closest to the fire wall when a side compresses up. I think I'm going to trim the fender and body pinch welds about two inches.

4crawler sells the plates that go under your leaf springs and relocates your axle forward a little bit. That pesky pinch weld hinders all of us.

You don't rub your front tires on the back of the fender well by the door hinge when compressed?

I've been looking at that area and think just trimming it with a grinder and saws all is the easiest and best way because it doesn't affect the construction of the body and those relocation plates open a can of all other things like extending drive shaft and steering linkages etc.

My driver side rubs real good fully compressed, but that's because I'm 275 lbs. Most people will cut it out I like front mudflaps when I'm on the road though so I keep bending it back and bolting em in

Highly recommend his services if you live in central Texas.
How I wish you were closer to DFW because I sure could use some tips on my own A/C on my '85 T4R; it was cold six weeks ago, but it's gradually gotten warmer, and I don't really know where to start...

I would also love to see how you mounted your Warn M8000...

... and I could use some pointers on my steering and brakes...

Took her out for the first real time and the first big ledge I came to, I shattered a burifield. Couldn't steer for awhile because it was binding so bad. It was crappy. Time for upgrades.

Glad to see you are getting to enjoy your build. Sorry to hear about the break down.

On the pics. Are you using Photobucket? I have seen mine occasionally not showing up and then later on they will. I havent figured it out myself.

Just ordered the bigger front calipers from an 88 v6 4runner. I also got the vented front rotors. My question is about the master cylinder and booster. Do I need a new booster when I upgrade to the bigger 1 inch bore master cylinder?

No you dont need a new booster, i'm running vented rotos and v6 calipers with an IFS rear axle, with the stock 85 booster and the v6 MC, so far its working fine.

I actually ran v6 calipers with the stock 85 rear axle and 85 MC/booster for awhile and the brakes worked fine.

Also i forgot to ask, how is your 4runner on 33s with 4/10 gearing? Do you like your 33/10.5/r15 KM2's, or do you wish you went with 33/9.5/r15 KM2s.

I like the 10.5s I wish they made 11.5 so I could fit them on my stock steel wheels. I'm running around town with 20lbs and it's like driving on marshmellows.
