Sexy!

I think this line, "...Building them for my 7 and 9 year old boys..." is just a good excuse for Dad to have his cool toys now. LOL!

Nice trucks!
But by the time the boys are ready to drive the black rims will have gone out of style, come back and gone out again so stick with chrome!

Don’t think i’ve Seen anyone build 2 at once. Like the electric distro block under front console. What is led display over plugs, lighter plugs with voltmeter between them?? Where did you mount it?

Actually i have 3 of them. Going to order the new Cummins 2.8 for the 3rd truck. That's gonna be mine......
https://cumminsengines.com/repower.aspx

Ok... So I use all Blue Sea Systems for electronics. From the boating world - water proof and tough. The panel and red switch you see are where the radio was. I used a Warn winch Zeon plastic cover... it fit perfectly, drilled a few holes and made it fit. Bit rough... but its bomber tough. The Disti block is under neath on the carpet. Clean. Everything is individually fused.

The red switch above --- thats for the dual battery system. It has 3 positions. Off... batts separated, On... both connected, Auto .. both charging. I leave it in Auto unless I am using the winch. When the motor is off and not charging... the batteries automatically separate . When you start.. they connect and charge. So... the Below deck panels.. One in front and one in back... both are wired to the AUX batt. So is the rear winch set up. When camping or Overlanding and hanging out... you can power all the good and still have a starting battery at full pop.

My buddy Matt owns https://www.offgrid4x4.com/ He has all the dual battery stuff / wiring. Cant do with out.

Parts I used -
Distribution block -
https://www.bluesea.com/products/502..._Bus_and_Cover

Below Deck Panel - Super Trick way to add power ports. USB and 12v Cig Plug. Surprised they have not exploded in our 4x4 world

Dual Battery System -

Breaker you dont see to cut power to Disti Block

This is how I have the Dual set up in my Tacoma. Use it all the time and wanted it in the 4Runners as well. Only way was to Put one battery in the back.

To answer the DM's as to why.....and how much..... I figure... all in.... Ill be about 20K each. But.... they will have a bad ass 85 straight axle fuel injected 5 speed. No one born past 1995 can drive a 5 speed so theft is not a problem... and by 2025 when the first one can drive... they will be so well built and not like anything the other kids roll with.

With all new drive train and updated electronics... these will be so fun and last forever. Besides.... in 2025 and 2027... how much is a new car gonna be? The car discussions at that time with the kiddos will have been solved for years and paid for. Plus I like to build trucks.

At least that's the logic I used to convince myself.

Plus - All my kids get a 4cyl 5 speed for the first car. Keeps all hands and feet busy. You cant just get in... Shift to D and Pin it...while texting.

Check this one out.... I sold it bone stock to a DR back east. He called me after a while and said..... "I love it and want to build it ..... what should I do?" I found him a shop and told them what parts to use..... They nailed it.

I had to track down the info on the Dr's truck, and found your posts. Great builds on both.
