Yessir! After I finish reassembly sometime in the next month (I'm on vacation...), I'll order some sliders from Wabfab and have them powdercoated by Jeremy at Loudin's powdercoating.

The bumpers will be custom fabbed to appear like the ARB but with some features that more suit my taste. From there, I'll drive her for awhile until I decide what I'm going to do with my life and settle into it. The next evolution will include lockers, Longefields and if I'm still that loony.....a 7mgte swap (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

The system I chose was Sherwin Williams Ultra 7000 base coat clear coat. It is bucks, but it sprayed and performed well.

Any good paint supply house will custom mix any color you want.....but they won't eat it if you don't like the result. I had a gallon of Dupont Chromabase mixed to such a dark green pearl that it was black until the light played on the body contour. It was for a BMW project that I sold before I could paint it.....still have that gallon. Anyway, they mixed it custom for me based on my description of what I wanted.

Refresh my memory, doohickys are differant from "thingamabob's" in what way? I thought it was more of a "whatchamacallit". LOL

Its looking good man.

Hehe. I painted it in pieces in my student housing The bed and cab I sprayed under an open carport during the monsoon season in Arizona. Since I used an unfamiliar system and sprayed it in the dirt with several years of latency between paint jobs, I'll have to cut and buff it. I meant to do it before I left AZ, but I ran out of time.....now I'm on vacation

Say, Fustercluck, what size are those tires and what's the lift on the Runner? Thanks dude, and great looking too! The only regret I'd have is having to care if the paint gets scratched or not (I drive through brush & branches purposefully).

The springs and shackles combined work out to between 4.5 - 5 inches of lift. The tires are only 31's right now. They'll need changing for wear in a few months anyway, so I'll go bigger then.

Hmmm ok. I've got 31's but they feel too small for me sometimes and my truck does not have a whole lotta lift. Maybe the sagging rear end just makes it look wimpy.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you.......Darth Fuster!

I changed her name. Hehe. Madeleine didn't seem to fit anymore...

This is not the full build, I couldn't keep up two threads on that and still fulfill my obligations. I think the links to it are active...

This is the end of the first renaissance. She is road worthy now. When things settle down for us in a bit, DF will get Longfields and ARB's. Within the next 12-18 months, I'd like to do a Supra Swap and dual cases. For now, with all of the snow we've had, and since Mrs Fuster's BMW is 2wd, I'll be driving this while she drives my Tundra.....Now that's love.

Man, I love reading your stuff. Your rig looks damn good, too. While not a resto freak myself, I can not get into your affections as such, but like to tinker and repair none the less. I guess it also helps to start out with a nicer rig. Why couldn't we just do that. I follow your links and additional threads with enthusiasm. Keep us continually posted and amused. I am ready to tackle my own version of mods now that I have witnessed yours.

Thanks Y'all! This is not to say that I'm done working on DF for awhile. I still plan to finish some bumpers and sliders by the end of Feb. I want to get them powder coated by Loudins Powder Coating and installed by then. I also want to mount a snorkel, but have to allow for the 7mge swap. The snorkel placement is on the opposite side with that motor....Gotta noodle that one out for awhile.

These 31's will be worn out by March or April, so I wil get new tires (33/35's ?) then...
