Thanks! I'm really looking forward to running Holy Cross too, it's always a great trail to run. It's also going to be great to meet everyone first hand, should be a fun trip.

Yea, it's going to be a great trip! Your going to love Holy Cross, fun lines and great views, you can't beat it. It's going to be cool to see that many Toyota's in one place (I'm used to being stuck behind Jeep's the whole time ).

my one question to you is, i see you installed the CO2, but i don't see where you're gonna mount the keg. what's up?

Thanks, it's funny how much TV shows leave out. You know that their 1/2 hour show really took them at least a week or two in the shop.

The CO2 is for filling up the tires , although ... , I had a buddy do that.

I spent a little time in the shop and got the rim stiffeners welded on the two new wheels. Overall it went pretty fast and easy, it was a little tricky welding on pretty much the edge of the wheel but you get used to it. I still have two more to install but they are on the truck and will need to be dismounted first, I'm going to wait until the new tires are here.

They still need to be painted but here is the finished product from a couple different angles. And if anyone is wondering, they are a little bit heavier, but not too bad, I doubt I will notice the difference driving it.

I had a little bit of free time today so I got the two new wheels painted. I used gloss black on the back and inside of the rim, then I used spray on bedliner (from Wal-mart) on the front of the wheel. That is the same way I painted the other wheels and it seems to hold up pretty good. The bedliner was a differant brand though, and seems to be a little more abrasive.

There's a couple spots where the bedliner dripped on the wheel but it's going to get scratched up soon enough

naw man you got yer gases confused.

CO2 is for pumping brew. Run that tank to the keg, (which is why you should have left that 3rd rear seat to strap 'er in safely) and run the beer line thru that cooler, then to the tap you will need to install on the left side of that swell roll cage.

NOx is for onboard inflation. That way, the next time you flop that puppy, you can take a few good inhales and just laugh your ass off til help comes to push it back over!

keep on truckin' bro!

I finally got my new tires, Discount tire shipped them super fast, it only took a couple days (I've only been waiting for over a year to get some tires ). They came a couple days ago but I had to wait until my day off to get them installed. I started by getting the old tires off so I could install the other two wheel stiffeners.

One of the wheels was bent a little, so I had to use a couple clamps while welding it. This was the only wheel that had to be clamped in place, the rest of them were tacked then welded.

I couldn't help but mount one of the tires in the process just to see how it looked

After getting the tires on, I decided to tackle cutting down the rock sliders. After I tubbed the wheel wells the tires started hitting the edge of the rock sliders. I also wanted to smooth out everything, so when the tire hits (which it will ), the tire won't get cut.

Before I started

No update pictures after the Colorado 4Runner Jamboree?? DIRTCO decided that his 3 week old windshield needed to be smashed up like the one he replaced it with.

When are you going wheeling next? I emailed your buddy Cory but I haven't heard back from him. Let me know when you guys want to run Indy

I guess it has been a while since I updated this.

Aug 1st and 2nd I meet up with a bunch of people for the Colorado 4Runner Jamboree, it was a great time and met a bunch of really cool people (I'm already thinking about next year ) The trip report is here https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f100...2008-a-150929/

Here's a couple pictures from the first day on Holy Cross, all loaded up with camping gear.

We camped that night and the next morning ran Carnage in BV. If you remember from the first page this is the trail that led to the complete re-build, this was also the first time I had run the trail since then. Everything was going great until I got to the V-Notch, that's when things changed (a little). Without 4.7 gears I was unable to crawl as well as everyone else, the result was me slipping off the line several times and pretty much rolling the rig in the process. I also slid several times the other way (on the driver side), which led to several super nasty hits that ended up crushing the cab and breaking my battery mount.

I don't have any pictures yet of the V-Notch but I have a couple of other spots on the trail and a butch of the aftermath. There's also a video link on the CO4RJ trip report that has a little footage after I flopped it.

At the trail head

We stopped a little bit before the V-Notch to watch the group in front of us, we started walking up the hill ...

And saw this!

Later on after the V-Notch

maybe you should build a windshield frame so you stop smashing them...
