Bought the truck for $900. Im always TDY everywhere so time is tight between family and the 4Runner. So far when my father came to visit he helped rebuild the top end of the motor using engbldr stuff. Right now I am in the process of swapping a manual and harness etc. from a 87 parts 4runner. I deploy again in Sept but when I return I plan on slamming some serious parts on this thing.

 

I like seeing the first gens being built. Welcome to YT. I just got back from over there a year and 5 days now. I was with the guard. I see you are staioned in Florida and guessing you are in Uncle Sams canoe club. I was in the Navy myself from 90-96.

One thing I did while deployed was did alot of studying on what I wanted to do and where to get parts for my trucks. To give my self something to look forward to when I had the chance, I was always scanning ebay or parts provider of some sort.

It really helped get me though deployment and I got a nice stash of parts I found for cheap when I returned.

Study this site and you will find some who are going your route on your truck and find out the do's and dont's for your project. There is alot of info on here.

Thanks I always wanted one but between the trips and being assigned overseas its been difficult. Im in the USAF at MacDill AFB. Yeah that is all we really do when we have the chance. Finding parts,deals, or dream. Deployments sucks but its part of the job I just discovered that I have almost 1600 days on the road somewhere. Kinda crazy. But i'm a 4wd guy by heart I had a jeep a full size and another 4 runner prior to this one. But I sold before going overseas in 05'.

Right now I have a huge mess in my garage. parts truck apart and my truck apart. But its going smooth just time consuming. Wife just wants the part truck out of here before I leave in about 2 weeks. LOL right!
