85 SR5 regular cab "street worthy"

Well, little update. Front bumper and upper/lower valance is installed. Cleaned, primed, sanded, primed, sanded, painted the valances. Talk about time consuming. Dash is all back together(painted all dash pieces to match). Carpet is installed. Cleaned the seats. Fixed the wiring on the radio. Removed the aftermarket gauges under the radio and installed a box I picked up at the pullapart out of an 88 yota. Pics coming in a couple of days when I get my computer back.

Here is the front facia near complete minus the headlight bezels. Waiting on the ups guy is a PITA.

Front third was almost finished till we realized we put the pinion seal on prior to putting the oil sling washer in so had to take it apart and of course order a new pinion seal.

Lots of work done this past weekend and I mean a lot! Friday was spent putting the putting the rear third bearings in and putting it back. I adjusted the rear breaks while I was back there. Assembled the front grille as well. Sat, front axle housing removed and all the brackets were removed that are no longer being used. Cleanded and painted the front axle housing. Put the housing back in and put the third back in. Completed the knuckles and hubs. Sun, Filled all fluids: radiator, brakes, front/rear axle housings. Bled the brake lines. Ran the truck on jack stands through first and second and put about 5 miles on the gears without to much pressure on them and check for any kind of noise that can't be heard while driving. No leaks so far and the motor is running pretty cool with the electric fan. The plan for Wednesday is install the rear carpet, seats, console. Then to put 20 miles on the front/rear gears(front hubs locked but trans in 2 wheel drive to break them in with out putting to much pressure on the gears). Let it cool, and put another 100 on them in the next week then change the fluids in the difs. I didn't take many pics this time as most of the job was very greasy, but manged to take a few during breaks.

The best feeling in the world is when you get your project on the road
, even if it's not complete. Your truck is coming along nicely. Those diffs look great too. Care to trade for my old welded diffs
? J/K. Anyways, be sure to get some pics after the run-in.

Just a few kinks to work out! She drives pretty good! The gears were just what the truck needed! Couldn't be happier so far and here are just a few pics of the ride. These will bring the truck up to date.

I would love to know where you got the window rubber and seals as well. I'm dying to replace mine. Tired of getting soaked while driving in the rain...
And I have always had excellent luck with Koyo bearings. They are Toyota OEM in many instances...

You are correct sir on the KOYO. You would be surprised how many times you take a truck in for service at a dealership and they be out of Toyota and stick KOYO in it. If the Dealership trust them, so do I.

I musta missed it... what seats are those again? I noticed Honda Oddessy Seats were pretty close on fitment... and they looked LOTS like those. Curious... Sorry, I looked around a bit but didn't see you mentioning which ones they were... ON THE REST... DAYUMMMMMMMM! Nice work, man! Thing is looking/becoming the stout beast it's meant to be, for sure.

Thanks for the compliments fellas! As for the seats Chef!? I have no idea where they came from. I got them with the truck when I purchased it. They do look alot like the Oddessy seats but the PO cut the brackets off the originals and these then welded the Yota brackets so they would fit.
West I'm right there with you on the x-cab. That will be my next one for sure. I'll probably find one and put everything from this truck in it. It's getting harder to find these trucks in good shape now days. Don't let the truck fool you, that bed cover has been on this truck since it was new and has some cancer under the plastic cover. I will eventually get a new bed or I may just find a whole solid truck first. We will have to see how the next year goes with this truck. I can't ever settle for a truck. I think I like building the trucks to much rather than keeping them. This is my DD for the time being. Once my son came along I had to sell my others and do a serious down grade. That's a whole nother story in it self though.

Its 5 minutes east of Jackson. I actually traded the bumper for another rifle.
The guy need the bumper more than I did. Took a loss but he was happy as fat kid with a new box of chocolate fudge popsicles on his way out of the grocery store as he has been saving his allowance for over a week for!

That's one happy fella! The truck looks amazing by the way. It almost looks as if you bought it off the showroom floor as clean as it looks.

Yes sir! Truck has been doing well! Have almost 600 miles on the new gears and going to change the gear oil this week. Also getting some Mobil1 0 30 motor oil tomorrow. Hoping this will take some of the motor noise out of it. That oil did wonders on my old truck with a lifter tap. Will let you guys know how it goes.
