I had a few issues with power on this new motor and finally I managed to figure it out....
I spent the day installing a LCE adjustable cam gear. I ordered it and the eccentric for the fuel pump. I started in early this morning figuring I would wrap it all up by noon.. NOPE!
Turns out my rig was the first one LCE had ever heard to have an issue with the fuel pump arm hitting the nuts and bolts on the LC ad cam gear.
After calling LCE and waiting and waiting and them finally telling me to grind down the bolts and nuts I said to hell with that and I did the sensible thing and yanked the mechanical fuel pump out and put in an electric fuel pump. I figured it would be better than machining the new ad cam gear.
It took all day. That and my 500 mile tune up for my new motor.
The good news.. THIS MOTOR IS FAST FAST! The cam timing on it was definitely out of time. The adjustable cam gear worked. I retarded the cam 4 degrees and it made all the difference.
Big thanks to XTREME22R FOR HIS HELP!
a long but good day with the yota!

Looks GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!
lol.....
Hey, make sure you rinse that salty, corrosive sandy stuff off there each time, eh? hahaha.
PS> GREAT to hear about the CAM gear/fuel pump fix! Glad you figured that out quick enough and without TOO much drama, woot

Hey, Tesseract, ...... you see the movie "Tesseract"? hehe. Pretty trippy actually.
Hey Spearo, ..... just stopping in to make sure no gremlins are messin with ya! Any more YotaPhotoBucketPorn for us? hehehe.
PS> I just saw this VERY SAME truck here in the South Bay(Torrance, etc.),.... and it was SPOTLESS! Anyway, he had the rims painted the same color Tan/Eggshell/Dessert Tortoise/WHATEVER, hahaha... It looked really nice.
Another one I saw was this one, down the road at the Big5, ....not sure if you saw it on my build thread, so I thought I'd share since you're a "Classic Fan"!

That's a sweet land cruiser. Looks like one that was in the party of guys I went through the rubicon with.
As for the movie, no, I haven't seen it, I'll look it up. I would expect a movie about 4th dimensional shapes to be pretty trippy though. Really, I just like the word. lol

Hahahaha... not to start a tangent on Spearo's thread... It's basically about this guy who is a mule(drugs) in Thailand... VERY heavy, trippy, etc., indeed. BTW....the star, PRETTY SURE, is that guy from "From Paris with Love"... Travolta's Co-star, lol...............
SORRY Spearo! hahaha.
SORRY Spearo! hahaha.

Hey Toyo what exact springs are you running and what size tire you have there. The truck looks really ballanced with that set up. Did you customize your springs? BTW if you put that roof rack on the bed you could carry more surf boards! Lol!!

Hey CHef..
you can tangent my thread no problem. Its all good reading!
Nice day here on the coast finally! It has literally been raining for months. Surf sucks, diving sucks, fog, but no rain!!
Found a great way to get absolute zero on these motors (22r)
This may be the half assed way but from what I have been told at least it gets you close.
pull all 4 plugs (in case of kickback), wrench the crank clockwise until you are at 0 on the oil pump. Now put a pencil in the 1st cylinder and slowly turn the crank clockwise until the piston touches the pencil, STOP and mark the oil pump where the notch lines up. Now rotate clockwise very slowly until the split second the pencil does not move, STOP and mark where the pulley notch is. Next step is to split the difference between those two notches!
This gets you redneck close to true TDC. If you are not super OCD and don't own a cam degreeing kit this method will get you in the zone.

Finally gave in and got a Weber 32/36. I also put on a LC Engineering Spiral Adapter for the Weber 32/36.
I absolutely love it! Super clean and powerful. It needed some tinkering and thanks to Xtreme22r the thing is running flawlessly.
This little truck is very very quick.
The only thing next is to clean up the engine bay. Get all the vacuum crap out of there and spray it down with engine cleaner.

I had Bob Pearson shape a custom board for a shoot I worked on and I absolutely love it! It is a 7 2' and it holds really well in double overhead surf. I have had a couple Arrow boards over the years and I really like them. They work well up here.
The guy who makes those wooden boards lives up the hill from me. Super cool guy, great surfer.
Here is his site.. http://www.taiyosurfboards.com/
The pic below is a Pearson board, not his logo but he shaped it. The shoot was for this company - http://www.swamis.com/site/
