Ocoeeyota's 1983 Pickup
This is my first Toyota, and first "build up" ever. I've never been into working on trucks but I've caught the bug. I had been creeping on YotaTech for a while trying to decide what year pickup I wanted....then this truck pulled into my driveway for sale last September. PO bought her from a guy in Truckee that had kept every single service record since the day he drove her off the lot in 1983. (I even have the biz card from the salesman that originally sold her haha)
Anyways, I'm no mechanic by any means...so help a lady out if you have any advice to offer.
Also, you guys have so much amazing information on here! Thanks for everything

She wasn't running smooth at all, no one could ever get the aisin carb running right. There were so many cracked vacuum lines too, it was either replace em or get rid of em completely
I still have to hook up the fuel lines and FPR. Searching for the fittings for that regulator has been the hardest part so far ha!

Looks good so far! The fittings can be a challenge. It can take a couple different adapters before you get the right setup pieced together. I got mine at my local Ace Hardware - I sat down in the plumbing aisle with my FRP for about 30 minutes figuring it out!

I will briefly interrupt this thread with the second addition to my little Toyota family. My boyfriend couldn't stand that my truck was cooler than his (actually...he has a pretty sweet '78 Custom Deluxe) so he went out and bought his own 1983 pickup. Power steering 5 speed! Lucky dog got it for a STEAL from a local high school kid.
