I think it would be easier......Ya wouldn't have to make a box for the filter...

Negative....I moved the airbox on a Tracker I had..connected it with a ˟˟˟˟˟ sucker tube...... I believe the fancy store bought snorkles connect to the factory air box...

It has been a long frustrating 2 months...A friend of mine worked on the trans for me, built one from the 2 junk ones I had...Well we thought it would work...as soon as I tightened down the cover everything would bind up....After several hours of screwing with it, I threw in the towel and bought a trans & Tcase out of an 89..So far everthing looks like it will work...I built a crossmember/skid plate so that handled moving the crossmember..I got the front shaft out of the 89, it fits....I will have to shorten the back shaft & my spare back shaft.. I have a long week at work..Hopefully I can finish everything up next weekend...I will try to get a picture of the crossmember/skid plate...

Drove it to work today, no flapping at all....I was worried about that.
How are holding down the leading edge?

I cut the front rail of a Heep top channel in 3 pieces and screwed it down.. I unstiched the top and cut the plastic that was in it the same way & resewed it. The top came off a YJ Heep.

Been a while since I've had any thing to post....The transmission fiasco was a pain in the A$$....
I ended up putting a transmission from an 89 in. I had to shorten the rear shafts ( I have a spare ) and I used the front shaft from the 89..

I made a skidplate / crossmember..

I need a way to idle the truck up while winching, so I did a little Yodarigging.....
Stole a high idle switch off my buddies Heep....I know, I know, but they are good for some things...I used a bracket from Lord knows where, but it worked perfect...

There was no where on the Weber ot the linkage for the switch to hit, so I welded a washer to an extra linkage I had.....That way if I fudged it up, I still had a good linkage.

The modded linkage on the left...

On the truck....Holds the idle @ 2100rpm...With the flip of a switch..

SUMMER is coming (someday)....So its time to take the doors OFF...I had to figure out what to do with the door speakers, so I made some speaker boxes (cans).

The cans cut down...

The can mounted to the kick panel...

And the speaker installed...

I just looked up that distributor and now I'm super jealous! Is it really as good as it supposed to be?
