This group of friends is what keeps me going. They are the best people you could imagine. I've never met anybody as true to themselves and to others.

The alternator belt snapped on the truck yesterday.. So I went and picked up a new one, just need to put it on.

Hopefully the alternator didn't sieze, causing the belt to snap.. I'll need to check out some info on an alternator swap. I hear GM alternators have more output.

I have looked into this to support my winch and my two 100 watt lights I havn't put on yet. But if decide to take my huge bumper and winch off I wont do the swap. Here are some of the notes I have gathered maybe they will help.

Thanks a lot for the info!

I'm definitely going to need it. I put the alt/ fan belt back on today and I think the alternator bearings are going out. It's making a consistant clicking sound and it's coming from the alternator area and not the valve cover.

Here's a video:

Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Check the bottom bolt....I had one vibrate loose, the blades on the Alt. would just barely hit....

Thanks GMAC. It turns out there were a few bolts missing from the power steering bracket. I put those on and the sound is a lot quiter, but still there.

It's been too freakin' hot to work on the Toy lately. Once it cools down and I find some time I'll go through a lot of the motor work.

Still need to read up and rebuild the tranny too.

I found a mm sized metal shaving when I changed the oil.

I'll be 21 in two weeks

So, that means I've been kind of rethinking life and how I want mine to be. I'm too young to be working mon-fri 7-5, everyone I work with is 30-40 or has a kid. And I just dont feel like it's right for me. Money just isn't worth the time wasted. I need to simplify; reduce my material possesions and focus more on my abilities and education.

I've decided I want to: Sell my car. Get a motorcycle, looking for a Suzuki DR-z 400SM. Put the rest of the money into my truck, tools, and music.

In around November I'm going to pack up and move to Maui. For how long? who knows. I've got some friends there and some friends here that want to go also. I'm debating on what I want to take with me. Probably just my backpack and ship my motorbike. I would love to take my truck but the cost to transport it would be too much and I fear it would get stolen if I parked it in the wrong place one night.

So my Toy will be primed and waiting for me when I get back to the mainland. That way I'll have a solid source of transportation and can focus strictly on continuing my education, which was previously cut short due to our unjust legal system.

I finally got around to working on the truck again. Started painting the cab with POR-15. The passenger side is done so far.

It's kind of bubbly, but I dont mind. It's going to have Peel and Seal and a carpet over it anyways.

My buddy is selling his 86 4runner

I painted the driver side inside the cab today. Now I can lay down the peel and seal, then carpet.

Thanks! I really like how they look. Since the POR-15 is a rust inhibitor I'm just not going to worry about those rusty spots and get the carpet in.

Here's how much one roll of peel and seal will cover.

I had to go to Lowes to pick up another roll of Peel and Seal to finish the job.
Since it's hard to find in the store; they have the Peel and Seal in the Masonry/ Roofing isle. It only has a small spot on the shelf.

Here is the floor all finished. Now I just need to do the door skins and throw the carpet in.

And I found a pair of BB4 prelude seats at the pull apart today. They are a lot more comfy than the EG seats I have. Plus they have lumbar support

Ha. I got a date with the massive local scrap yard once it cools off one weekend to scour for some possible seats. Same one I got my truck bed from.

Thank you!

I got the carpet from stockinteriors.com. It was like 6" too long on every side, so I had a lot of trimming to do. I had make a center line spot in the cab and marked the same spot on the carpet with tape. And just measured from there to get the right size. Thats how I got the holes for the shifter spot and the gauge bezel too. If that makes sense, I should have taken some during photos.

Measure four times and cut once! and always take less than you need to because you can always cut it again. But you can't add to it.

I was watching how to videos and it looks like if you take the original carpet and lay it over the new one then cut all the holes to match then it's A LOT easier.

But I threw mine away a long time ago. haha I think I had to tear it out piece by piece because it was so stuck to the floor from soda pop spills.
