-GM 100 amp one wire alternator installed with LC Engineering adapter and -100 amp breaker.
-Stripped interior and sanded it down to metal, laid down 1 coat of primer and 1 coat of rustoleum. also ordered a molded rubber floor and planning on laying down Peal N Seal from Lowes and some Nasa insulation before installing the floor.

@irab88

Overall plans include:

-New interior
-Bedliner
-Rustoleum paint job
-Marlin Crawler Front and rear bumpers and a winch
-5.29 gears and Detroit locker rear (factory gearing with 35's a dog!)

And who knows what else, these kinda projects always continue to evolve as I'm sure you know (;

Thanks for the kind words! I love tinkering with it.

Hopefully some of my parts come in today, can't wait to get my interior back together.

You guys know where I can get a cover for my split bench seat? Eventually I want to put in buckets but for now I'd like to find a cheap cover.

good luck ... split bench covers are tough to find. it might be easier to swap in seats.

or if you don't flip down the seats, you might be able to use a full bench cover

Progress Report!!

Hello there again my toyota friends!

I've been working my butt off trying to get this thing back together, Miss being able to drive it.

anyway enough with that, My Hella horns and Hella H4 headlights came in as well as my rubber floor.

Here's pics,

Horn Relays

New headlights with yellowstar 80/100 watt bulbs, also painted the grill and headlight trim black.

Put the final coat of paint on the interior.

Stripped the doors down so I could put some Seal N Peal down.

So this thing has a 3" body lift and its causing me headaches with my shifter boots any ideas on how to fix this? the problem is since the boots are 3" higher than their designed to be they don't have near enough flex to handle all the movement so I'm not sure how I'm going to fasten them down without restricting movement or tearing the boots.

Installing my custom rubber floor, it was a real pita to cut and fit this thing since its pretty stiff, should last a long time though and its easy to clean

That's it for now guys, I'm working on a heavy duty wiring harness with 10gauge wire and 40amp relays to run some 150 watt H4's in my new E Code lights. Ill be sure and add some pics when I get the chance!

Update 2-2-2012

Here's another update on my progress guys,

Finished my heavy duty wiring harness for the headlights and it works great! However one of my new hella's is already cracked I took the truck out to play in the mud the other day and went through some big puddles with the lights on, I'm wondering if the heat from the 100 watt bulbes caused the housings to crack when the cold water hit them?

More flex

Untitled by aukesglock23, on Flickr
Also removed the sway bar and I think it handles better, sure it leans more around the corners but I don't drive the fast either

Installed a brand new Cobra 29 LX over the weekend,

Untitled by aukesglock23, on Flickr
Like my new custom headliner?
Also grabbed a NIB Wilson 5000 antenna off Ebay for 40.00 shipped! Tuned up like a charm too, Its sitting right at 1.1 on the SWR meter.

Untitled by aukesglock23, on Flickr
And yes I drilled a hole in my roof, I hate dealing with magnetic antennas and I wanted it on top of the roof for a good ground plane.

Untitled by aukesglock23, on Flickr
Tonight I took the bedliner out and washed all the crap out, the bed looks very good, a little rust and a few small dents but overall it looks great.

Untitled by aukesglock23, on Flickr
Going to get some roll on bedliner for it soon hopefully.

My headliner was in pretty bad shape so I just tore it out, Anybody have ideas for a new one? I thought of maybe getting some thick cardboard and cutting it to fit then covering it with vinyl?

Looks like suppers ready

Not really sure whats next on the project, What do you guys recommend I do next to make it more trail capable?

Peace out boys!

I made mine out of 1/4 plywood, glued some carpet pad on (I am 6'3" and will probably bounce off the roof), then wrapped it with marine vinyl and put it in my biggest problem was gettin git to fit aroudn the sunroof I installed...see you just cut a 9/16" hole I cut a 24x30" hole....LOL you can see it on my build up. The truck is coming together great.

@dirtdobberoffroad thanks for that input! I like what you did there, I'll probably end up doing something similar.

@LinguraDeLemn The joys of getting a Texas truck

Now for an update with lots of pic's!

Pounded out a few dents on the front fenders best I could then did some bondo work, At first the plan was to buy new fenders but this is cheaper and I was bored so here go's!

Putting on the bondo turned out to be pretty easy, not perfect for sure but I'm going to put bed liner on the rocker panels and fenders anyway so I figured I just need to get it smoothed out a bit.

I have started taking all the paint off the right fender now too, My plan is to clean one body panel at a time putting 2-3 coats of primer on each and then painting the whole truck once I get that complete.
