I went wheeling last month in the little bit of mud we had.

Not very impressive but it's all I got so far.

So how is the paint holding up? I'm getting ready to roll the paint on a project I have and I wanted to ask you if you have any advice.

Thanks Gilby... I've seen that post in the past and read up to page 23 at one point and was even more confused than before reading it. lol. It's an awesome thread however, there's too much garbage in it as well. So I figured I'd ask 4x4Spaz how he did since he was successful in this painting method. So thanks again Gilby..

It's holding up really well. Dried hard and has an orange peel-ish texture. Kind of a timely process because a good deep color needed lots of layers. What else do you want to know about it?

I read on the mopar posts that some of the folks that used Rustoleum ended up having issues with the paint coming off, but since you are not, I'm even more willing to try it now. BTW, How many layers did you end up rolling on your rig? Do you have close up photos of the paint or orange peel?

Thanks!

That's a sweet truck. I love the 80-83 body style. Unfortunately I have never seen one around here since I'm sure they've all rusted to nothing because of our winters.

Wow, it's been awhile since I posted here...

It's been two years and the paint still looks great. No chipping, flaking, or scratches. Can't say the same for the Herculiner, but I beat it up pretty well.

Future plans have changed to include: Chevy 4.3L, lockers, half doors, 38" tires and maybe some Dana 60's. Pretty much on hold 'cause of other projects and a new baby.
