Cool older Toy. I too am glad you went with a yellow body.

Oly things I would add to the list are lockers (you mentioned these, you get a gold star for the day), a winch and a toolbox and tuffy console for secure storage.

I've been working a lot so haven't had much time. The drivers fender has four coats. The passengers fender and the visor have three coats.

Thanks to Hupptoy for the nice fiberglass windshield visor.

It seems that this bright yellow is gonna have to be pretty thick in order to not be partially translucent. Maybe two or three more coats on each panel.

On an unrelated note, check out these sweet new seats!! But more on that later....

Oh yeah, I also had the 5.29 gears installed front and rear. Haven't engaged the transfer case yet, but so far I'm liking 'em.

And now the list has grown longer... I am also in need of extended brake lines and four 3/4" - 1" wheel spacers. I'm also looking at a complete polyurethane bushing set. Overall probably gonna add another $350 to the project. ugh....

The seats are from my '85 Mazda RX-7. It's amazing how close they fit. Since they are from a sports car, they sit low and are really high in the back. I don't know how I'm gonna fix that yet. But they are comfortable and hug your butt really well .

Grille and bezels color

OK, so the truck is going to be safety yellow with black fender flares and black stripe. What color should the grill and headlight bezels be? I've seen them look good being the same color as the body, you think that'd be the case here.... or should I just black them out? I need input!

I'd just go with plain ol black for the headlight doors and all... it just looks better than some funky colour IMHO

Finally makin' some real progress...

Here's one lil' coat... looks like hell...

And after three coats, it starts to look good from far away...

I'm looking three more coats will give it good solid coverage. Overall, I'm happy with it so far.

Here it is with the fenders...

I also took the time to black out my entire frame and drivetrain.

So a collective effort between my girlfriend and myself yielded discouraging results...

Seems the previous owner had a REALLY big rust problem... but instead of fixing it, he just used rust neutralizer and painted over it...

And this is a spot where he used a big fiberglass patch and lots of bondo... I realized when I was sanding that the entire drivers side has NO lower bodyline...

Any suggestions on how to fix? I haven't the time to find a good bedside, nor the money to get a fiberglass piece. At day's end, I'll probably just re-fiberglass and bondo smooth. Ahh but it is aggravating...

Looking really good. I love that color. Can't wait to see what it looks like all done. I'm hoping in the near future to have a 79-83 pickup to do all this too.
