well i got the car stripped back down and marked every thing off that needed body work just so my friend and I wouldn't miss anything while we were doing the body work at his shop. It felt so wrong spray painting the car!
Other then the moderate damage on the rear quarter panel from its first accident the car is pretty straight except for a few dings here and there.
Body work is all done and I was able to pull out the core support to get the panel gap back in check. Here is the car now at the paint shop after the first color of this two tone paint job was sprayed. It is looking good 👍
Well as a final update to the car, the paint is done and I've thrown everything back on on it. this car looks fantastic. who knew a maaco paint job could look like this!
the car is basically finished and i couldn't be happier. it sucks that my first tercel got wrecked, especially since i put so much time into it, but this car is truly great.
Friend of mine had an All-trac wagon like your original one Put more miles on it than not Ended up in a junkyard for some lame reason n I was not happy about that I had told him I would take it off his hands when he was done with it but he forgot or something.
Good work on both rides, may your replacement last for another 200k.
I found this picture tonight looking through YouTube. There's a lowered one in this color running around here in town too. I've seen it twice but don't know who owns it.
Your's looks great! Don't park this one on the street.

Thats sad to hear, but thank you. I plan on not having this be my daily just because its too nice but who am I kidding. What ever other car i get after this will undoubtedly be driven far less often than this car. It may be slow as all hell in a straight line but other than straight line speed, it says yes to anything.
The exterior of the tercel is now finished. I managed to get my hands on reproduction toyota sticker for the rear hatch. I didn't quite sand off the old sticker all way before paint. It pissed me off because in the right light you could totally see it through the paint. Turned out to be really handy in getting the new decal lined up perfectly.
Theres not much left to do on this car. The only thing it absolutely needs are tie rods and thats it. The only things I want to do are fix a couple small things in the interior and then clean the light surface rust off the bottom and undercoat it. This might just be the first project car in the history of project cars that will officially be declared finished. Also I got the inclinometers mounted up and working from the old car and heres a couple pics of the interior.

That thing is disturbingly clean!
I had one of those in my driveway for a year and everyone was asking about buying it but no one really wanted to work on it. They are really great cars and yours is immaculate.
Nothing new to report with the tercel other than I replaced the alternator a few months back. Im said I have to make this post but some one keyed the ever living ˟˟˟˟ out of the car while it was parked at the Americana mall in Glendale, CA. This happened a month ago and because I was right next to the elevator and think this was just some punk ass person vandalizing something out of opportunity. I don't have any enemies what so ever so I can't think this was targeted especially considering the location of the car. (I was literally the first car you saw coming out of the elevator). It for sure happened at the Americana because on the hood where it was keyed, the paint chips and dust were still there. If I would've driven it even more than 10MPH it would've blown off and it certainly did by the time I got home. However, in the last month my girls bug got keyed in our driveway, and yesterday my Fiero that I just had painted (havent even washed it or waxed it yet) got keyed really bad. All the key marks look almost identical to each other across all three cars. The insurance company company body shop says the damage is just under 6k to fix considering 2/3rds of the car has to be painted in order to blend all the panels in. The only panels that don't need paint are the driver side doors. Granted its a Maaco paid job already and they said they could fix it for 500 bucks but I still have to tear down the whole car to get it ready for paint. All total the insurance company says the damage done is close to 15k between all three cars. If anyone knows anything or sees anything on social media please let me know. This is, on paper, 3 cars being totaled in the span of a month. Im not on here too often and Im not sure if I can post my social media here but if anyone knows anything my instagram is @peter_d_rich. We just want to know who is doing this. We don't even care about the Maaco bill we just want to know that we can stop this person and not have to worry about our paint jobs or, possibly, something much worse.
