Couple 82' 4x4 Questions...

Hi n00b here who decided to finally post here after carefully watching everything here and i have a couple questions about my 82' 4x4.

alright so first off my truck is a 1982 Toyota Pickup 4x4 shortbed. i bought it in Mexico for about $1800 (roughly transferred from pesos). I went for a LONG vacation and after two months i decided that i needed my own car after hitching rides with my cousins. it was love at first sight and i knew i had to buy her. so i got her and she was in ok condition. she was originally from california and was brought down to Mexico in 1989 so she has NO RUST!! has about 256,000 miles but i still had the 22R rebuilt and put a new alpine in her. after a long 8 months in Mexico i came back to Oregon and left her in my granpa's garage.

heres some pics to just get it over with.

Sorry that i don't have alot/good pics, its just that shes in Mexico and i had forgotten my digital camera and only had my cellphone. ima go in about a month so i'll be sure to take alot of pics

So she right now has manual steering but i'm planning to change it to p/s. i have all the stuff from an 84 4x4 so i just wanna know if anyone has done this and have it work (duh). plus, the p/s gearbox doesn't come with the shaft that goes from the gearbox to steering wheel but i'm planning on using the one from the manual gearbox. i'm afraid that it will be a different length or something and not work so i wanna know before i leave in about a month.

thats what happens when you don't have your baby next to you. shes 3000 miles away so i can't really do/know anything. she might not look like much right now but i have HUGE plans for her.

Actually, your truck looks in great condition. Remember you have a truck that is 25 years old! If the interior is in good condition, your even luckier. Don't throw away good parts, just to replace them - you can usually sell them or trade for other parts you might need. Your driving a classic - remember that.
