1983 First Gen

1983 yota, PO spilt gas down the side, might as well do that to the whole truck, at least I wouldn't have to sand it down
PO installed a 37 gallon fuel tank
20r head, 22r block.
Rebuilt motor -- 500 miles on it

PO cut and tied the seat belt on the drivers side to only go across the waist... why? I don't know.
Diamond plate head liner and cracked dash.
Terribly uncomfortable "racing seats"

Diamond Plate door panels painted black
Pictures of my new first gen before I have started any work on it.

pics are showing up now, at least for me.

it never ceases to amaze me to see what people have done to trucks...diamond plate headliner...wow..
of course a few people have wondered WTF i did a few times too
you have a project on your hands
you should take the truck into your local police department, looks like a few bodily fluids might show up under one of their cool flashlights...

Welcome to Yotatech.
It's amazing what some of the PO's do to these trucks. I've had three 83's, on one of them they attempted to install a sunroof, cut the hole the wrong size so all 4 corners leaked and then attempted to bondo over the entire mess, glass and all, lol. Wow 37 gallons, I bet you can really put some miles on it between fuel ups! You're making some good progress, keep up the good work!

Clutch was slipping so bad that I could barely drive it across town
Got the tranny unbolted and dropped down
Tranny is out and I cleaned it up a bit, throwing it back in tomorrow.
