1979 Toyota Pickup Build

This is my 79 toyota pickup. It was converted to the square head lights in my opinion i like it better. But the story goes, I was looking for a used tranny for my 89 Toyota pickup and one of my buddies new a guy who had some . So sitting in his yard was this mess. I had been looking for a while for something cheap to throw together and build up a wheeler. Although it was a mess for 800 bucks and two complete 22r engines i couldn't pass it up.

This is how she sat when i found her

Set some wheels under it and brought it home

As for most of these old pickups the rust inside the floor pan wasnt to bad

Then began to rebuild an engine so it was fresh

After the engine was in and running the rear work begun, sanding and prepping for paint . Decided to go with the easily paintable white . Not to sure how im feeling the bobbed bed right now . Was on it already when i found it. But eventually one day ill throw a normal size one on there!

A buddy of mine had some fresh white doors already couldnt pass em up for 50 bucks for the set of complete doors

Now to the paint

I think it came together pretty nicely

Now that i have the paint all on it was time for the goodies to go on

ALL PRO lift

And the hy steer. couldn't go without it

A framed the rear shocks

AND this is how she sits as of right now!

Thanks Everyone! it has been quite the project . @83toyota88 The paint was single stage industrial paint that i picked up at my local parts store . The paint was very cheap. I think it cost like 18 bucks for the gallon
