I hear ya.... I tried to talk him into a similar year LS 400(she wants a sedan)... He has driven with her quite a bit and says she's just VERY responsible and not a speed freak, .....and, well, .....it's San Diego area, .... so not really much of an ice/even rain concern. We'll see.... sorry for the tangent here. Just thought you'd like to share your knowledge of the ole Beamers with a fellow Yotatechie! lol.

Thanks, Brandon, appreciated!

That's ok chef. Quite a few of us on here that have BMW's. SCToy probably knows more about them then I do. I don't frequent the BMW forums nearly as much as this one here, I guess that's a good thing and says something good about the BMW itself though.

Looks like not a bad choice. I am looking for a 4 door e36 rolling chassis to swap all my mechanical components to.

Oil filter, air filter and left and right upper strut mounts.

Now we just got to rent one of these from autozone.

I love my Mann filters, they sure make you feel like a mann when you work on your car hehe. Where did you order your parts from, might I ask?

Pelican was the cheapest we found for what we needed. Oil and air filters were an afterthought as they were dirt cheap.

Call me crazy, but I think I am gonna attempt to do replace the upper strut mounts without removing the lower part of the struts from the steering knuckle etc etc. Reason? I would rather not throw the alignment off if I can help it. Hey Jerry, turns out I might be the one getting impaled by a spring. hahahahaha. (sorry inside joke)

Of course it doesn't rain all day as soon as I start to turn a wrench it starts to rain.

Gonna have to take the strut out, not enough room on top even with compressing a few coils for it to come out. Figures. lol.

yup to rent or to buy. Money back if your "renting" it. Passenger side done. Not gonna quite worry about driver side just yet. Oil change done, and air filter changed as well. Photos forthcoming maybe tomorrow.

Not gonna bore you with the details. Here are the photos.

And on last one so ya can see what I was working with and how much room I had since it was raining shortly after I started this. Total time was about 2 hr's. For one side.

Nice, Alpine White just like ours. Only issue I have right now is when engine is cold there is a slight miss. Which is remedied by pinching off the fuel return line.
Beginning to think maybe the fuel pressure regulator is bad on this thing.
