2006 Scion tc cutch issues
A buddy of mine, previous owner of my 85, has a 2006 scion tc. It had the typical signs of a bad clutch like say cruising 50mph in 5th gear, mash the pedal to the floor and the speed stays the same but rev's increase alot....burning clutch smell, and lots of visible smoke. As far as i knew it was a bad clutch IMO but people who i dont know (ran into them at the parts store) say it couldve been low clutch fluid, bad slave cylinder etc. I figured if it was any of them by now the clutch is pretty well burnt up. Anyway, apparently it was bad slave cylinder AND NOT the clutch because the car will go into gear BUT not move, even as the rev's go higher...
Well, i thought that meant the clutch was just toast, right?
it did slip alittle, then got worse and worse, and now the car doesnt move at all.
the pedal was mushy, but it still came back up and never sat at the floor. The car would go into gear, it would just slip alot, and then it got to the point where it didnt even move.
Anyway, it had a BAD clutch odor, and eventually started smoking...BAD. Started off as a blueish oily color, then as it got worse, it darkened to almost black, and now no smoke at all and the car wont even move. SOOO....
clutch...right?
