My mother has a 2000 Sienna minivan with a 3.0 v6. She was driving it the other day, when suddenly it began to stumble and hesitate, while at the same time kicking the check engine light. The motor runs, but it seems to have a miss, and will become more noticeable under acceleration, but smoothes out around 3k rpm.

I will get a chance in the next couple days to run a scan on the computer, but does anyone have any idea what I might check out?

scan will give you the best answer anything else is speculation as to what it could be. Check the obvious stuff like fluid levels ad such. Take it to an auto parts store if you don't have a scanner and have them check for codes.
