Mountain bike videos
Watch out, I have discovered there are videos out there
Not talking the YouTube variety, although there are very good ones there.
I mean some that are available on DVD.
Saw this one in Bike magazine, I do not think it is out yet, but there are two teasers on it.
It is called "Barred for life."
http://www.vimeo.com/2349551
http://www.vimeo.com/3682826
I would love to ride some single track like that, minus the jumps of course
Looks like it can be bought here at a later date.
http://www.chainlinkproductions.com/
YouTube does have the first teaser, although it looks way better on the Vimeo software.

Here is a link to other videos.

I have been looking at those GoPro helmet cams and also another brand called the ContourHD which has a ton of vids on their website where you upload them to.
Found a cool one of mountain biking up at Whistler Ski Resort in BC.
http://www.vholdr.com/node/30662
I would like to go there sometime, they say it is some of the best mountain biking around.
Look at the video quality of that camera, it plays full screen perfectly.

http://www.vholdr.com/
The only bad thing is the cam shoots in Mac format MOV videos which you can not edit with XP/Vista Movie Maker, it will not open them to edit and make a smaller WMV file.
But you do get 200 GB of storage space at the cams website to upload your videos to.
It does take better looking and sounding vids than the GoPro Hero helmet cam.

brought up this site.http://www.mtbmovies.com/
Lot of homemade vids there.
I was looking for commercial grade DVDs, but not sure where to start getting a fairly modern one that shows good riding.

I placed an order today for a Troy Lee Designs long sleeve jersey (cold weather is coming, not going to let that stop me from riding) and I found a cool video on their website.
I guess they have more too on their YouTube channel, but this is the one I saw on their site.

Slope style.
I notice most who ride this way do not wear regular bike clothing, but wear jeans instead.
I like it at 1:08 where he spins the bike around by hand in mid air.

The IT techs got the Vimeo vids to work on the site now.
Here is a sample that I linked to earlier in this thread, but now the video will play right in the thread window both regular and full screen without having to go to Vimeos website like you have to with YouTube to watch a video full screen.
Use [ v v ] [ / v v ] to embed the vids here.
Note the above example have spaces between the letters or it will try to embed a video.
Take out all the spaces.
Click the X in the lower right corner of the video to play full screen here.

Fun song in this video.
This was shot with the older GoPro, a non HD model.
The author and his friend used two cameras.
One on the back rider filming his bud up front, and a camera on the front rider facing backwards capturing the rear rider.
Whistler Mountain again.
Man that makes me want to vacation up there for a week.
