She'll be my DD, and I want to do some minor wheelin. Fire roads, light mud, and maybe some light rocks, like similar to what's around Loon lake. I'll be working in the Sierra's all summer, Soda Springs to be speciffic.

I really like this: I'm not too sure about the lockers though. Maybe swap the rear for a LSD.

Same thing as the other first gen, just a hell of a lot more rare. But I'm gonna pass on that one though. She was imported from CO, and still won't smog.
you would have to invest a lot of time and money! but it would be sweet!

That 1st gen truck is nice. I would get that. Sucks about the emissions though. Makes me glad I don't have that where I live. But I have rust that you don't have

Hence the reason I didn't buy it or that blue one. But that 85 runner that just came up sounds nice, still waitng on a reply though.

I also want to know what that guy with the red 4runner did to get it to burn rubber at take off and run 100 mph

I'd go for the red extra cab, the extra room for stuff, and the ability to slide the seat back makes a big difference (I've driven regular and extra cabs...i'll take the extra cab any day...although i went the extra step and got the 4Runner)

Storage is exactly why I want a excab, I can fit a cooler back there no problem, or squeeze some passengers too.

I'd only get a runner if it was a first gen, and a 4cyl at that.

So this is where I am at now.

I've driven this: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/312462301.html truck around twice now. Only issues that need to be checked out before I buy it. 1)A/C doesn't work 2)timing chain slap when it's cold. It's going to get estimated at the mechanic tomorrow, so I'll know what's up then. I hope all necessary repairs are <$500. If so, I ask him to take the difference of repairs out of the price, and I buy the truck.

So this is what I took home yesterday:

In less than three hours of owning it, she was already on a back road outside of Placerville having fun.

I'm stuck at work all weekend, but what times are you looking at?

I already mounted up some KC Slimlites up front. But they short instantaneously. They are just wired/mounted but not working. I'll have to look at them some time later... I went through 6 fuses trying to source the problem

As far as the future, there isn't much in the works. The budget is going to be tight, and I don't want to harm my MPG. When the tires go out, I'm getting some BFG ATs.

My neighbor's truck is just like that. Same year, color, and stripe down the side. Only difference is he has the toyota brush guard and the same tires as mine (don't get bfg radial long trails) haha.

4.56 gears are so nice with 31's, I have 4.10's and first gear isn't near as nice as my neighbor's.. heck taking off in 2nd with his doesn't take much more riding the clutch as 1st in mine to get a smooth start.

My truck is rolling 4.56s? Interesting. 1st is very short, and if I am cruising, can hit 2nd at 10mph, usually around 15 though.

92 SR5. Stock V6. 31" Bridgestone Duellers. Warn air horns, KC Slimlites. Sony tape deck w/ 10 disc CD changer.

Pretty much a stock rig, perfect for DDing, and the summer fire roads near where I'll be workin.
