For Sale 87 22re 4Runner, WANT GONE ASAP!

SALE PENDING!

I bought it off ebay sight unseen and its to big a project for me. It runs and drives, but it needs work. I paid 900 and all i want is to get back most of what I paid for it. Not snowing anyone on this, b/c I am honest enough to tell you whats wrong vs the jerk who sold it to me. I feel the parts alone are worth at least 600 or best offer. Otherwise ill part it out piece by piece to the highest bidders. There are alot of usable parts. I am located in Central NJ about 1.5 hours from NYC and about 1.5 hours from Philly. $600 or Make me an offer! I really need it gone! Excellent truck to make a rockcrawler or to hack up or use for parts. Engine and trans run well, no issues.

Good:
Newer tires, some cooper all terrain 31's or so.
SR5 alloys in decent shape
5 speed
4x4 works (although auto hubs)
Rear window works, but slowly.
I think rear defrost works
Drives straight
22re runs strong, was rebuilt by previous owner at one point in last 50k or so (have documents)
Trans shifts good, although shifter is sloppy (bushing?)
Removable top is good besides L channel rust and crappy tint job
Manual locks and windows, doors have vent windows
SR5 Cluster w/tach and tilt wheel
Have alot of documentation I can get out of it, but it seems the truck was rebuilt in alot of areas about 5 years ago or so. Title is clear, carfax says it had an accident.

Bad:
Rust. Body is rusted out mostly on fenders and body mounts in passenger/driver front and behind driver is iffy, as well as floor has surface rust on drivers side. Tailgate has some rust on bottom, but looks solid otherwise. Doors have minimal rust, not to bad. Hood is surface rust on underside but SOLID otherwise. Under carriage has some rust on spare area and surface rust on frame and parts but its not through.. Frame appears to be solid AFAIK. Windshield area is missing 1 trim piece on top and rusty. Rear bumper is shot, front bumper is ok-missing lower valence.

Interior. Like I said its ok. Seats are all there and need cleaning, drivers side doesnt adjust anymore. I had to remove the rug, it was nasty, interior panels are off everything besides the doors, but they are all there. Dirty and the rears had these bad speakers in there but there. I was planning on diamond plating the interior and using the panels as reference. Dash is complete minus radio area. Idiots had this huge old ancient thing in there i ripped out and wiring is still there, it goes with the truck. Inclinometer too, doesnt light up though.. Still I may keep that.. The floor is ok in the back, up front I began to ship away the deadening material to look for rust so its chipped up all over the floor. I know it looks bad, but someone with some welding expierance could fix it up pretty easy.

Truck will need new shocks, new muffler and pipe, and other misc stuff. Horn doesnt work but has an aftermarket air horn installed. Truck runs, but starter solenoid (under dash makes click noise). I got it to run a good few times before this became annoying, but it does run, drives straight and engine feels peppy as all heck with the stick. I had it running today to moveit and take pictures, it ran very well idle was great. Brakes up front seem ok, rears need adjustment-parking brake cannot be used b/c the brakes are to outta whack and you cant take it off once on very easy.

Otherwise everything else works besides cruise, a/c blows and so does heat.

Overall iirc the truck has 200k on it and has alot of new parts courtesy of the previous owner. I got had in an ebay auction with it and like the honest person I am I took it home a a project, its to much of a project for me.

This truck SHOULD be trailered back or drive at your own risk. It is not insured or even registered and its sitting at my shops impound lot right now. They and I both want it gone.

dude thats fixable, it def take time and a bit more money, but you could fix it. mine wasn't much better, it's actually pretty fun, until you look at receipts. but who cares. you can find parts easy, buy a welder, and get to work. otherwise you'll loose out. it's almost impossible to find a rust free 80's toyota on the east coast, you'll have to find a desert truck.

ARRG! Already sent a money order off for a 22re I'm getting! I would've been all over that! I also have a white project 4runner, it needs a lot of tlc and an engine, but the body is just about rust free. I'm dreading pulling up the carpet, I got a taste of what's under it when I started to pull it up next to the tail gate. Nothing but surface rust all over.

Good luck with the sale, I'll keep posted on whether or not your going to part it out!
