Just looking for something to mount in the 4runner. Already have an antenna set up on hold, just need the coax. and radio itself.

Thanks,

If you can afford it, buy a dual-final radio. This means you'll be able to get twice the wattage out of your cb after it has been peaked and tuned.
The connex3300hp is an awesome amature/cb radio that is able to transmit 35+ watts on the regular 40 cb channels. There are hundreds but the connex is the best bang for your buck.
Or you can go the route of say a cobra radio and buy yourself a small "kicker" aka amp for it. A palomar 250hd is a great talking little amplifier. Have the radio tuned for a low deadkey(less than 3watts) and you'll be in business.

If you don't want to deal with amps or high-output cb radios, then do the next best thing. Get your antenna mounted in the center of your 4runner and check that your swr is below 2 to 1 ratio.

a good new radio is a cobra 148, or uniden Grant XL. the new cobra 148s can not b messed with as much as the old 148s if you can find that is at least an 1985 or older SSB/am 148 then snag it.
